Classical Musik

Hello! I was wondering as to what your favourite piece of classical musik is. My favourite would probably be Ave Maria by Franz Schubert. It is just so beautiful!

Do I have to limit myself to just one song? :P

I love Mozart's Turkish March, it's probably my favourite piano piece; my favourite opera is Schubert's Ave Maria, although Mozart's Königin der Nacht is an obvious second place; and Bach's Brandenburg Concertos are my favourite symphonies (I do believe that's what they are, unless concertos are actually their own separate thing). I don't have a favourite Brandenburg concerto per se, I just don't care for the second one.

edit: oh wow, op has good taste in operatic music

Rondo alla Turca (or Turkish March) is a favourite of mine. I like several pieces a lot, such as Boléro (Ravel), Moonlight Sonata (Beethoven), Suite Bergamasque (Debussy), La fille aux cheveux de lin (Debussy), Symphony No. 5 (Beethoven), Dance of the Knights (Prokofiev), In the Hall of the Mountain King (Grieg), Piano Concerto (Ulvi Cemal Erkin), Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (Mozart), Marriage of Figaro (Mozart), Toccata and Fugue (JS Bach), Tristesse (Chopin), Pavane for a Dead Princess (Ravel), etc. and Star Wars music if you consider that classical (I consider it modern classical).

Peer Gynt Suite no.1 (Grieg) as a whole is definitely among my favorites. I'm currently trying to master its third part (Anitras Dans) on the piano.
Also, Beethoven's Ninth. 'It was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh... And then, a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal, or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now.'

Opus 2 From the New World by Dvorak. So calming, plus the Shire.
