i decided to... adapt that new Australia-Hungary design into a ball of it's own accord. i'll run down a few things for you all to speculate on.

- the top left emblem patch is flayed, old and worn.
- the red dot in the middle is (for those that want to draw this) meant to change according to emotion, or like this one here is just random.
- the emblems are that of Austria, Moravia and Slovakia

Hey, I'm back guys! Sorry for the long wait. Just so you know, I'm thinking about retooling my nation's history from the ground-up, and as such I had to change my flag. Don't worry The United Nations Of Europa, I still have a copy of the flag you designed for me saved, just in case you need it (or I need it) for anything. I'll try and post some comics (is it a comic if it's single-panel?) soon.

This is the USGA (my IC form) as of 1914.

The countries surrounded by yellow are as the picture says, states of the United States of Greater Austria.

Here's a short synopsis for each nation.
North Germany(the one with the German Empire flag)- Having lost the Austro-Prussian War to the Austrians, the Prussians and allied kingdoms annexed the remaining Austrian enclaves within their borders and consolidated the North German Confederation into a new nation-state, the German Empire. It is known as North Germany informally, thanks to the presence of the USGA. It seeks to assert itself as the 'true' Germany.

Baden-Wurttemberg(the red and yellow one)-With Austria's victory in the Austro-Prussian War, the Austrian-allied kingdoms of Baden, Wurttemberg, Bavaria and others were merged into more manageable entities in the 1st USGA Congress, them being Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria. Baden-Wurttemberg is comprised of the lands of its namsakes as well as a few other kingdoms.

Bavaria (the white and blue one)-With Austria's victory in the Austro-Prussian War, the Austrian-allied kingdoms of Baden, Wurttemberg, Bavaria and others were merged into more manageable entities in the 1st USGA Congress, them being Baden-Wurttemberg and Bavaria. Bavaria is comprised of the lands of its namesake, as well as a few other kingdoms.

Bohemia (the one that looks like normal flag (cancer) Poland)-A long standing member of the Empire, even before its reorganization into the USGA, Bohemia has been through thick and thin. It now wishes to unite with the Slovaks, who are at this time under the rebellious Hungarian boot, represented by the broken circle (that's where Slovakia should be)

Galicia-Lodomeria (the one that looks like Polandball Poland)-Galicia-Lodomeria was annexed into the Empire during the Partitions of Poland. As such, they are ethnically Polish, an issue that was only handled by the 1st USGA Congress.

Austria (the one that looks like the Austrian Empire, duh)-The heart of the USGA, Austria contains the inner workings of the United. its ambitions, and therefore those of the entirety of the USGA mainly revolve around the reconquest of Hungary into the fold.

Hungary (the one that looks like Hungary)-The Hungarians had left the Austrian Sphere completely in wake of the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. The Magyars had revolted several years earlier, and now had taken the opportunity to secede from the preoccupied Austria, which was busy dealing with the German situation during 1867 (this date is special because its when the Ausgleich took place OTL).

Bosnia (the one which half Hungary, half not Hungary)- Bosnia has historically been under joint administration by the Austrians and the Magyars. The secession of the latter however complicated. Despite Hungary cutting ties with Austria, the joint administration still stands, although Hungary has been steadily trying to usurp the current government, a process Austria certainly finds unlawful.

Romaina (the one cut in half)- Ever since its freedom from the Ottoman yoke and its participation in the 2 Balkan Wars, Romania has been clawing its way to reclaiming its rightful lands. With Transylvania still under Hungarian control, Romania joins the USGA in eyeing up Hunagry.


And now for a summary of this alternate history.

The Austrian Empire's twilight is cut short by a victory against the Prussians in the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. This turn of events pushes the demands for the Ausgleich back leaps and bounds, an act which upset the Hungarians. The year after 1866, the Hungarians would revolt once again, the first time being in the 1840s, and this time they would succeed. The Austrian Empire was dealt a blow by the secession of Hungary, although their victory against Prussia managed to keep them invading anytime soon, an act which would allow the Empire to recuperate. By the 1880s, Franz Joseph, the current (at the time) monarch of the Empire, began to cede powers to Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne, one with revolutionary ambitions at that. Franz Ferdinand would implement sweeping reforms to the outdated mess of kingdoms that was the Empire. On 1900 there came a historic occasion, Franz Ferdinand decided it would be time to start realizing his dream of a United States of Greater Austria in order to fix the still messy territories. The 1st USGA Congress was held, and the Austrian Empire would be formally reorganized into the United States of Greater Austria. Subsequent congresses would then work out the kinks of the new system. Now it is 1914. The USGA has since been almost perfected. Almost because of one major issue. The Hungarians. Since their secession, they have been a thorn in Vienna's back, by existing they act as a roadblock to the USGA dream.Things are about to go down.
