I'm interested in BF1 though.

Is it bad I have put 28 times your CS:GO hours into 1.6  .
I've been playing since its release on steam.

I occasionally like playing those free Half-Life 2 Mods on steam, like Fistful of Frags (Though its graphics need some work).

Did you play the beta of Overwatch, if so how was it? I might get it, but I'm saving my monies for Battlefield 1.

Played the beta. Was in the last stress test they had before the open beta as well. It's pretty fun. A lot of people compare it to TF2. I'm not sure because I've never played TF2.

TF2 is differently balanced and less chaotic also tf2 is slightly faster paced.(Unless you have engineers turtling on last)
Doesn't make OW bad, just different.

I was going to get TF2, but couldn't be bothered waiting five hours for a download, especially considering Steam keeps automatically changing to updating games, forcing me to correct it every ten minutes.

Anyone remember playing Medal of Honor: Frontline?

What a great game that was. Quite hard though... (Must have been the difficulty I set)

I was going to get Destiny, but I thought it wasn't worth it. When 'The Taken King' came out, I thought £50 was to expensive.
Besides, there are other games I like too.

Bungie made a good effort, but could have done better.

Sure, the lore is cool, but the gameplay is rather boring, IMO

Well, to be fair, my negative perception of the game might be because my brother "accidentally" deleted my character

This poll is freaking hilarious and one sided.

My personal favorite FPS is Dishonored.
Although I'll always have a soft spot for Battlefront 2.

I put the poll up because people have been moaning about this issue.

Battlefront II... that bloody amazing. I have played the Rise of the Empire mode over and over again. My favourite missions were:
  • Operation Knightfall (Coruscant)
  • Tying up Loose Ends (Mustafar)
  • Changing of the Guard (Kamino)
  • Our Finest Hour (Hoth)

According to Wookiepeedia, yet another Battlefront Game is coming out, allegedly in 2017. I am assuming DICE are developing, as Electronic Arts have made mention of using content from Force Awakens.
I don't want it to be name Battlefront II, because everyone will forget the old one. It should be named Battlefront IV.

Favourite FPS games would be the Halo Series, Battlefield and Republic Commando (which is my second favourite star wars game of all time)

Im interested in getting Overwatch, maybe Doom, im still not sure yet. And im interested in Battlefield one, but im going to wait and see first based on the state of the last few BF games at launch. Also looking forward to Deus Ex Mankind Divided as well.

My favorite FPS game is the Original Deus Ex.
The Shooting mechanics are a bit clunky at first but you get used to them.

As a fairly new gamer a lot of my good FPS memories co
E from newer titles. Borderlands, Call of Duty 4, and Halo 2 were my first plunges into FPS. Currently I'm revisiting MW2 and having tones of fun on multiplayer even if that fun involves getting 1080 no scoped from the other side of Wasteland by a hacker. I'm also revisiting Borderlands 1 and I've having a good time with the noticeably aged menu system and overall more challenging gameplay.

So my friend let me have his COD:WAW copy.

Thing is, when I finished and started getting to the shooting, I noticed there was no music whatsoever, no battle chatter, and after the initial cutscene with the Japanese officer killing Pvt Pyle, things just... shut up entirely (apart from a single "Tennou Heika Banzai!!!11!1" uttered by a Japanese mook, two others screaming from their deaths, and the sound of gunshots). I was waiting for the next major scripted moment in the same mission to see what would happen. Lo and behold! Roebuck's mouth moves at the speed of an electric fan, but no sounds come out of it at all!

So I decided to go fix the problem by creating a "raw" folder and downloading COD:WAW sound files to rearrange into it. I rechecked the game. No serious change happened. So the sound files are still here, they just don't have anywhere to go; and I don't know how on earth to make the magic happen and have people talking and music playing again.

I'll be honest- I have limited interest in the First Person Shooter genre, because a game focussed around, well, shooting thing seems like a shallow premise. I hold nothing against those who enjoy such games, and I'm not saying you can't make an entertaining game out of it, but for me, a good game tends to be more about large-scale tactics/strategy, or about the narrative/world-building.

A first person RPG with a shooter component, though... I'll play the hell out of that.

I'm also curious as to weather First Person Strategy/Tactical game is a thing. You know, where you can command large military forces, but from a first person point of view rather than an overhead God mode type of POV. It probably is, but I've never played a game like that.

I guess I like the realism/immersion element of First Person, and I'd like to see it applied more to genres other than shooters.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

I kind of liked Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, because it just seemed a bit different. It seemed to have a more.. realistic/stealthy approach to it. By first-person RPG, I assume you mean something like Fallout 3+?

Maybe, as it is second hand, something probably corrupted the files and messed them up. It is probably not just the music, but perhaps other critical files are also missing. The best thing to do is to get a new copy of WAW (Working Preowned games are getting cheaper). Its easier than checking every last file.
