WARGAME DISCUSSION THREAD

ImageImageImage

For those of you that don't know : Wargame: Red Dragon is a real-time tactics video game developed by Eugen Systems and published by Focus Home Interactive. Like its last two predecessors, it is set during the Cold War but after the original games, in East Asia. Along with the new setting, its introduces China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, and the ANZAC as new nations.

The purpose of this thread is to discuss the game, and series, as a whole. Share your custom decks, organize tournaments and clans, and discuss in game tactics and strategy for all ti hear.

I will also post a directory of all clans, members, and Steam IDs submitted to me, to make it easy to organize inter-clan games and tournaments. To get your clan on the OP, just telegram me with the clan name, tag, NS Nation name and War-game IDs.

I use Eurocorps as well xD

Though lately I've become accustomed to Commonwealth decks; as for REDFOR, I usually play as Poland, USSR, or East Germany. Fuck China.

And fuck the North Koreans, while I'm at it.

Steam name : snfsylva

Favorite deck type?

Going to get this game soon, hopefully since I only have European Escalation.
Also Panzergrenadiers and Leopards <3

Steam SN is Baron23445 for now. Ingame is Kamitorrorga.
I've found a liking to my East German air cav deck. Meanwhile, I don't know what happened to my Polish deck.

Great game. I haven't played it for a while, mostly because I had to delete it from my computer to free some disk space. I love it, even though i get mercilessly stomped most of the time, yet I keep returning like a battered spouse.
The People's Republic of Kaitjan is a nation most glorious: a totalitarian communist dictatorship set against a backdrop of vast jungles, great rivers and a horribly tropical climate. Kaitjan is renowned for its all-encompassing militarism, rampant xenophobia, isolationist tendencies and a great love for tigers and tiger motifs.

I fare much better with a NORAD general deck. More options. I worry I will run out of units though.

My favorite part of the game is naming my decks rediculous things.

Czechoslovakian Mechanized - Czechs Mechs
Japanese Armoured - Folded a Thousand Times
US Airborne (Pre 1980) - Mel Gibson Parade
Canadian Motorized - Mobile Apology Force

etc, etc.

Wargame Red Dragon is easily one of my favourite LAN games to play amongst my mates, I'd play online more often, but my ass can only take so much punishment. :(

So in ranked games, what is your first move? Latly ive been flying hard in with aur infantry to get to it and secure it first. But if met with tank spam it dosnt work out well for me.

Funny, actually.

Ranked games? That would require me being a good player to start with!

Jk, jk. I've been playing scared recently, using a Support or Marine deck. REDFOR artillery is...awe-inspiring, to say the least. If used and micro'd correctly, at least. Contrary to popular belief, proper usage is NOT a Buratino spam (as fun as they are). Using them to stop pushes, and to cover pushes, and to clear forests and towns, however, works wonders. If you've got a player with half a dozen Buratinos and a sizable logistics base, you can hold just about anything.
