"If the movie White Tiger was a Warthunder game"

"If the movie Red Tails was a Warthunder game"

These are brilliant, and sadly reflect how a lot of people act in this game (and many others). The Red tails one especially is awesome.

I play air battles on War Thunder exclusively. I find the tank battles to be slow and uninteresting.

Progress, levelling the playing field and stuff. It'll be the norm soon.

At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

So, in preparation for the future of cross-platform play with controller against KBM, they're already giving controller players unfair advantages so we can get a whiff of the future?

Or maybe controller players can turn the assist off for competitive play.

You guys need to stop complaining about consoles/controllers/ports to consoles so much.

so players with a controller getting to cheat isn't a worry because it can be turned off

never mind that anyone not forced to probably won't, given that the article notes that people are using controllers on PC specifically to take advantage of the aim assist

:^)

and no, it's too fun

Aim assist is annoying with keyboard and mouse, which is far more accurate than a controller with aim assist.

I've just recently got a job, so my free time has fallen off quite steeply, but I've just recently reacquired Command and Conquer Generals: Zero Hour and I had forgotten how much I had loved that game, it being one of the few RTS games that I was legitimately good at as a child.

Anyone else play C&C Generals?
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Okay but in competitive tournaments (note: NOT casual play), you should be forced to turn off aim assist. Actually, in competitive play, you should use the same layout as everyone else.

Oh, liar!

In all seriousness, they're not too bad post-laser weapons, when you can reliably two shot them and often one shot them. It's the early stages where they're horrible; you may need three shots to kill one, and a single stray can turn a terror mission into a disaster.

And they're about to get a hell of a lot worse.

For whatever reason, I remember my first run in a base where Chryssalids were plentiful went off without a hitch.

But then the next time I went through the same base in XCOM: EU my party got fucking wiped.

I honestly don't know how to deal with the bastards.

It isn't that the guns are weak... I remember having guns in the first run.

Maybe it's because I played on a lower difficulty the first time around?

I honestly don't know.

The game is, frankly, way too random at times.

I get that in real life skill won't always save you... But, well, this is a game. Of skill, strategy, etc.
