Me it hooked quite good.

I remember as a kid I used to play a lot of FFX and FFX-2.

Being a kid, I was a bit stupid and didn't really bother with any grinding, preferring to avoid random encounters. So by the time I reached Bevelle, I was so underlevelled I could flat out not beat the Guardian Wyrm. I think that save still exists on my memory card, the party frozen in time on the airship, stuck where they are, incapable of progressing.

For some reason I haven't bothered to use "no random encounters boost" in steam FFIX.
Yet I used "LVL99", "master are abilities immediately" and "max gil" boosters. :p

My FFX is International version and yet it always stuck in the opening.

If it's set in Japanese, it will continue but it will stutters, during conversation between Auron and Tidus.

If in English, Tidus suddenly merged with Auron graphically.

Only the demo versions of Odyssee and Exodus.
I did bought the Oddworld bundle on Steam so I ought to get around playing them in full. :P

If the Leviathan isn't a boss in XCOM 3, I will personally send letters to Firaxis.
I don't know how long I'll be back, but I just thought I'd stop in and say hi, at least.

I tested NMS. It's an unoptimized, endgame-less pile of garbage. But it's also addicting as hell. I found my new Spore. I don't recommend it for that price and hope they add massive amounts of content or else this will always be crap.

What're your settings?

One Steam review I read said that it was well-optimised for High graphical settings (with above-spec hardware), and very poorly optimised on lower settings.

Wayyy above spec. Playing on all-medium and zero-aa, otherwise it starts to lag like hell.

20 hours in annd i'm still loving every minute Of NMS. I havent had many graphics issues. I think it might be an geforce vs AMD thing i have a 980 ti which is handling it great. It only starts to jutter sometimes after like 6 hours of solid playing.

I was planning on getting it on PC eventually.
Given the concerns about it's optimisation and the current price tag, I think I'll put it off for a bit.

If the last like three years have told me anything, it's that if there's a simultaneous console release for a PC game, people shouldn't buy the PC port.
Because you know it's going to be a port job.

Only buy PC exclusives on PC, would be my advice, as a non-PC gamer.
There are exceptions, of course. Can't help but think that EU is buggier on console than it is on my laptop. Whether Deep Pockets was never originally intended to be used for grenades on Support, or it's an actual bug - Support can't carry grenades on console.

Planets with more than 10% water in nms are the worst. Half the points of interest are under water, and the character can't hold his breath for more than a minute it seems.
Also, those non-stack-able items are killing me. I can put several tons of iron in my inventory and they only take one place, but two little power packs? Nah, those must take two spaces.

They need to fix many things.

Starships getting catapulted into space instead of slowly taking off the ground is a feature!

Players of other games have to buy DLC after DLC to get similar features, so count yourself lucky.

Jim's Jimquisition yesterday was about hype again, but rather specifically toxic hype.
Basically feels that as more years go by, the toxicity of hype culture gets worse and worse, as it simply becomes more impossibly fervent and overly defensive.

Time was that Jim's worst experience in response was to having praised DmC Devil May Cry when TRU HARDCAW FANS must hate it because it's not Devil May Cry enough, apparently - now fairly easily topped by the rabid madness of No Man's Sky's hardcore base.
And what the fuck, at least DmC's earned a hardcore fanbase over several decades.
No Man's Sky didn't exist until last week.

Didn't his site get DDOS'd shortly after posting his NMS review or something. I recall him mentioning something like that in his PC port review vid.

Yep, as well as unprecedented mass traffic.

As he keeps saying, he doesn't use ad revenue so it didn't even do anything.
He encouraged people to use a google cached version of the review.
