That being said though, from what I see above, there does sound like there are legitimate problems that go beyond "Exactly how advertised", but some of it seems to be like "Oh, all there is to do is explore!", even though that's pretty much EXACTLY what it was being advertised as.

Again though, even with this, and I love mindless exploration (Seriously, I spend games like Grand Theft Auto V exploring for hours instead of actually doing anything in the beginning, always), none of that was EVER worth $60 to me. I wanna play it but I'll wait for a while, especially with all of these things I have already.

Apparently we were banned from PSN.
Why?
No idea.

In other news, I'm pretty excited for Titanfall 2. Didn't get into the first one as much as my dad, who currently has over 1000 hours put into it, but it was still fun.
And hey, we're not banned from Xbox Live.

DS1 playthrough makes slow progress

50 hours in, some observations:

the bed of chaos is a joke

a cruel, cruel joke

the four kings were chumps against the meme power of my 2-handed +5 Chaoshander with Power Within

haven't gotten at the ravelord yet but I hope he'll be more fun than the RNG-based platforming segment that was the BoC "fight" and the DPS race that was the Four Kings

the fact that seath's curse breath keeps raising the meter even when you're dead is annoying
I literally got cursed during the fade-out ;_;

also started on the DLC content

the sanctuary guardian died quickly to my +15 Great Scythe and Power Within
the stone knights in the royal wood are brutal
the royal wood is pretty to look at

Haven't even played it so I don't know about the gameplay, but apparently the devs didn't fulfill all their claims.

I think it was less "didn't fulfill their claims" and more "didn't tell people they were wrong when they got hyped up on the pure conjectures of fanboys". From what I've seen of the game it fits with everything the devs said they were building but a lot of people were speculating and took offhand comments by the devs and expanded them into promises of gameplay mechanics the devs had no intention of having at launch. The devs never really took the time to squash those rumors. I'm planning on getting it eventually but from what I've seen I don't think it would be worth 60 bucks. The killer for me right now is the fact that there are survival mechanics and I've never really been a fan of survival mechanics. They're often tedious in the early game and then turn into a minor annoyance in the late game. Also the lack of story, as much as I like mindless exploration, If I'm paying full AAA price for a game I want a story that's more than the story of me mindlessly exploring as I head in the direction of the center of the galaxy.

Jim said the survival elements were pretty simple and easy-going.

Since Monday's Jimquisition was an episode about survival systems ("Babysitting the Survivor"), he probably knows what he's on about.

Even though Sean says it works fine for 99% (lol), Steam forums and reviews are full of people not able to play or even start the game.

Meanwhile in fictional space exploration news, I'm gonna put another few thousand light-years on the odometer tonight in Elite. There are now the seeds of a second bubble 22 kly from the bulk of human space, and I'm doing my part to push the frontier—namely, hauling 128 tons of booze halfway across the galaxy.

In further space exploration news, in Starbound I recently found myself at the bottom of ocean planet. And then I started digging really deep, and amazingly I found a huge haul of titanium ore, which is just what I needed to upgrade my work stations to get some better gear.

Now I need to find out where to find more wheat and tomato seeds. I really need to expand my farm operations.

I read a review for No Man's Sky (A user review, mind you) saying there's not even really multiplayer features like was said to exist since the get go. Two streamers apparently went to the same exact place, on the same exact planet, and could not see each other, and for one it was night time, and the other day time.

Honestly, as much as I was interested, there seems to be some serious flaws. I knew it would be over hyped, though, and I had my own reservations.

That's kind of the point? I wasn't playing Bioshock on Steam, I was playing it off of Direct2drive.
