My only real worry is that Adult Swim won't exercise the restraint that the original show's creators did.

The charm of the original, at least for me, was that it was almost...tastefully violent? I guess that's the best way of putting it.

I'll probably watch it anyway, but the idea of a Samurai Jack with T&A and gore just kind of ruins the appeal for me.

I'm not saying that's whats going to happen, but Adult Swim is very hit or miss for me lately, but the idea of Samurai Jack ending up like Mr. Pickles just kills my inner child's rotting corpse.

I hope they bring Celestia back to the show

That's where Toonami comes in. It is a the main division for anime in Adult Swim and I'm pretty sure they will oversee the production so it's just right for the viewers. I get what you mean though, Jack never seemed to seriously injure an organic being and Adult Swim could possibly change that, but I believe Toonami will make sure that doesn't happen.

It wont be the same without Mako as Aku.

Also: YOU BETTER NOT FUCK THIS UP!

Also Also: Why aren't Jack's eyes in the logo? That would have been an awesome call back to the original show.

Pretty sure he's facing Aku in the image.

I don't think it's awful. The animation just tries way too hard to be shocking for my taste.

Also, why is Jack wearing armor?

I only remember him wearing armor in the first episode, where he was in destroyed Townsville or whatever with the talking dogs and those sick-ass beetle robots.

Not really sure, that's the only official image we have of the new seasons. For all we no it could be to just hype up the crowd and won't even make it into the final show (please don't make it into the final show).

Tbh it actually sorta looked like traditional Japanese Armor. Maybe not Samurai but pretty close.

You think they are taking the 'Samurai' bit in the title too seriously?

Makes me wonder if it's going to start off right where the original left off, or if there's going to be some kind of "x amount of time later" kind of thing.

I wonder who they're getting to do Aku this time.

It should have left off at the Young Jack in Africa episode, now that was a good one! It set up a nice conflict, but he really overcame adversity and proved himself. It was a bit anachronistic for Jack to learn a little bit of every martial art from all over the world from 5 until throughout adulthood, but I don't think he mastered everything strictly speaking, but became proficient in the core fighting systems he came across while traveling the world but mastered a few such as Shaolin Kung Fu and Ninjutsu.

Now I can't help but to comapre Jack to a hunter from Bloodborne. They both use speed to attack and dodge enemy attacks, both of them don't use shields and armor as much and at the end of any long and drawn out battles both are covered in blood... Okay it's oil for Jack but we all know that in Adult Swim it's going to be both oil and blood.
