Samurai Jack Is Back

This was the first bad episode in my opinion. The Scotsman's part however, I approve of. I like that he's a ghost now. I didn't want Ashi to not be a villain but I can see why she'd be kept around, she has martial arts skills which are almost on par with Jack's so that is sidekick potential in one or a few episodes.

So far I haven't seen any episodes that I consider to be bad in my opinion. Not sure if I will keep that opinion in the future but for now I will say that the series is living up to the wait and hype.

I think the current episode was way better than the last. It was a callback, we found out what became of the characters in older episodes 50 years after the fact. Went to the place where Jack commits Seppuku if it ever has to come to that. Now there is the motivation to find his lost sword. Looks like the next one can be as good.

With animation, anything can go. My interpretation is that Ashi's black outfit wasn't merely ash and char or body paint. If she was in an Aku cult, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for them to have access to a material that is supernatural and connected to Aku.

I think the black covering did in fact, act like a skin tight suit of clothing which was imbued with evil. It probably burned and was painful initially, but once applied- (clearly meant to be permanent) could stay on and breathe or expand and contract for maximum comfort as the wearer grows older and etc. We don't absolutely know for sure its exact mechanics. But I liked the unique twist that it wasn't just ordinary fabric.

But I guess we'll never know, because obviously men and women can never be within twenty feet of each other for more than five minutes without someone coming down with a case of the smoochies. Lazy garbage writing is lazy garbage.
