It's kinda stupid until you realize that they just replaced "gigantic list of dialog options you have to scroll through for hours" with "tree-based nested list of dialog options you have to click through for hours".

And it's still done WAY better than ME.

Disagree there, there aren't really any nested options you pretty much get the same response in FO4 no matter what, at least what you said in ME had consequences.

The dialogue in FO4 is idiotic, and it makes your character sound idiotic.

I find it honestly hilarious that you said that ME is a game with consequences.

I mean it's true, but they aren't consequences to what you do.

I mean in this world there's tech schools that teach people how to create synthetic people that can murder people so it wouldn't be too far-fetched to have a law school that teaches people how to dish out some Enclave-style law & order

Of the two companions worth having, one of them is the same species as power armor and the other is an intellectual and thus would likely know how to operate one anyway.

To be fair, it doesn't look that hard to operate. Just crank the back until it opens, step in, auto close? press a button?, walk around and shoot things.

I don't even have a problem with the dialogue, really. For the most part it isn't that bad unless you're the type who wants to play a drooling imbecile or a wasteland Nazi, which I don't play either.

I may not want to play a drooling imbecile or a wasteland Nazi, but I want the option to play as a drooling imbecile or a wasteland Nazi, dammit! And I wish they'd included skill, perk, and SPECIAL checks in dialogue, too. One of my favorite moments in New Vegas was successfully tricking a protectron into leaving you alone by shouting "Ice cream!" with seven luck.
