They changed up the power armour dynamic in a way i'm not opposed to. In fallout 3 it just became another bit of armour once you get so far in the game. Now when i pull it off the station, Ok when I pull one of them off the station, it's because i'm in for a heavy haul mission. It means something for me to resort to the power armour.

Still, I spent three hours at level two building my small steel hut just opposite my own home. A quaint little place with all the homely necessities of food, warmth and machine guns to call my own.

Now if everyone in town could kindly stay out of it, we'd be grand.

Assign everyone their own bed. I had that problem when I built my hospital and wanted the townsfolk to stay away from all the medical beds I put in there for flavor.

On an unrelated note, I'd like to think playing as the female character plays out sorta like Far Cry 3. Your close relative with military training (you know, the one actually capable of doing well in the situation presented to them) dies early on, leaving you alone and afraid. Of course, with a bit of practice and help from friends, you slowly evolve (or devolve) into a socipathic killing machine.

...or the law school the female PC attended was actually a cover for a secret Army Intelligence facility where the United States trained it's best operatives. That works too.

Been having a blast in Fallout 4. I was confused about some of the crafting mechanics for a while but I think I've got everything together now. Got a swagged out pipe revolver that does 48 damage at (iirc) 204 range and just bought a serrated Chinese officer sword, time to fuckin rumble.

Do you need to have someone as a companion to romance them? Cos I want Piper to be in lesbians with me but there's no way I'm leaving Dogmeat behind. I got the Attack Dog perk and everything.

So I'm experiencing a bug where, during the scene where that dude in diamond city almost kills his brother and gets killed by the security guards, everyone in the city is stuck in the scene and the guard just keeps shooting 5he dead body. I can't interact with anyone because they're stuck in their script so I can't purchase anything or further any quests in diamond d city

Any ideas

I'm not sure it's fair to compare FO4's factions to FNV's. In FO4 they're there because they're plot relevant. In FNV every faction was written for a specific purpose. They were more conceptual than human. Every faction, even the minors, were designed expressly to make some point about human nature, and then to almost immediately try to prove that point wrong (for example, the NCR is representative of freedom and democracy...but what if that democracy is extremely corrupt?).

I see FO4's factional system as more reactionary towards FO3's. The BOS, for example, is obviously written in a way to make up for how "goody good guys who do nothing wrong" they were in FO3.

Not to mention.

The power armor seemed a little too easy to get, and normally you need to be trained to use it. In Fallout New Vegas with both the Brotherhood of the Mojave, and the Enclave Remnants you just can't slap on a pair of power armor without getting trained by them.

I don't see how this is a negative thing. It always seemed silly to me that the power armor looked exactly like normal armor and I'd spend long parts of my life watching other people wear it, but I had to get one SPECIFIC GUY to teach me how to use it "correctly".

It's kinda stupid until you realize that they just replaced "gigantic list of dialog options you have to scroll through for hours" with "tree-based nested list of dialog options you have to click through for hours".

And it's still done WAY better than ME.

Disagree there, there aren't really any nested options you pretty much get the same response in FO4 no matter what, at least what you said in ME had consequences.

The dialogue in FO4 is idiotic, and it makes your character sound idiotic.

They sometimes pick up weapons off the ground, though.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Your character is from the 2nd Btn, 108th Infantry Regiment of the New York National Guard who was deployed in the Sino-American War, more than likely to the Alaskan front and took part in the Canadian occupation as well.

Somewhere down the line he probably got a rudimentary course in power armor usage on a T-45 chassis. Seeing that the US had outfitted a bunch of it's Mechanized Cav Regiments and even an entire Mechanized Division with T-51 and T-45, then I'm more than certain that power armor (Which you find at Nat Guard bases), would have been given and more people trained on it.

But yes, continue the "six-year old super modded Fallout:New Vegas vs not even a year old Fallout 4" retarded debate.

Because honestly, FO4 stands up better than /vanilla/ FO:NV, but when you add 100000000000 mods, 4 DLC, and mother fucking Project Nevada? Of course they'll be things that it'll do.

Jesus if you're so fucking petty and find that ABXY dialog gives you a fucking headache and can't be assed to get the mod that already fixes it, then you should just fucking uninstall the game.

I haven't had them blow me up yet, but I've seen others that have.
I've had them use weapons I gave them to hold but didn't tell them to equip. Seems reasonable to assume they might accidentally use the fatman I gave them. Will have to do some testing with that no companion damage perk though. The implications are interesting.

Quite.

Which is why I am wondering who the hell had the money to buy one from the military. I've played most of the Fallouts (not that godawful Brotherhood of Steel though) as female just because its intentionally makes my experience harder. That dumb bastard Caesar had the audacity to invite me to their camp after I slaughtered all officers of their Mojave expedition. Nearly had my companions die several times. ED-E unfortunately exploded, and because I forgot to save I didn't want to replay that entire camp slaughter again.

It basically just condenses all the kind of options you had in 3. Basically a few million ways to say the same damn thing versus four ways to say things. Admittedly the vague subtitles are bad, but there's already a mod that allows you to see exactly what you're going to say, so that was fixed astoundingly quickly.

I don't even have a problem with the dialogue, really. For the most part it isn't that bad unless you're the type who wants to play a drooling imbecile or a wasteland Nazi, which I don't play either.
