This one is supposed to be not even QA'd. As one of my buds said "It's an unfinished game tossed to market" He returned his copy.

It's an AAA company releasing an early access game that sold alpha access under the guise of 'BETA'.

It might be a good game down the line if they continually update and make changes to it, but I won't be supporting it personally.

To be completely fair, the earliest versions of ESO were pretty shitty too. Maybe it'll get better at some point in the future.

The amount of work they'd have to do to make it good is nearly unfathomable, to be honest.
Apart from all the bugs, poor graphics, shoddy gameplay and broken promises, it's just not a very good game at its core, and you can't really fix that.

And I say that as a complete Bethesda fanboy.
Hell, I have nearly 2000 hours on FO4 alone.

Yeah, but Bethesda/ZeniMax also didn’t make really retarded decisions and poorly communicate with their fan base in regards to ESO. Like, I’m pretty sure no bag controversies or no refund policies occurred with ESO.

No it's totally okay now, they told everyone they heard them loud and clear. Not when people actually brought up the issues, only when every major news outlet that covers gaming brought it to everyone's attention. Only then did they hear everybody's concerns.

I heard that Bethesda may have a class action law suit filed on them for the Power Armor Edition due to the controversy with the canvas bag. That likely ever to actually happen?

So uh, legit question because once again, Bethesda did not think this through. Are Synths able to reproduce? Do they age? How do they get sustained (do they need food/water, etc.)? Do they need rest?

I tried to look for this in the Fallout Wikia. Failed to find any info about it. I'd appreciate a response. (Obviously, I mean Gen-3 synths. Specifically, post S9-23 Gen-3 Synths, rather than the Gen-1 or Gen-2 Synths or Hybrids like DiMA or Nick Valentine)

I don't think they ever expanded on it. Unsurprisingly. I'd assume that they're able to simulate eating and drinking and sleeping but I don't think they require it to survive, they just do it to be more realistic and fit in when they're spying on the citizens of the Commonwealth.

However, one thing I find interesting is that Gen-3s are apparently human enough that they can be eaten, because in Far Harbor you encounter a group of cannibalistic raiders who ate one of the Synths from Arcadia.

But that begs the question. IF they don't need food to survive, that would mean they get sustained in a different way. Batteries? A Nuclear Reactor? Solar panels? The Gen-1 and Gen-2 robots you can argue don't need long-term and constant sustenance because they're never that far from the Institute for long enough to run out of power, but Third generation Synths? Those guys might have long-term infiltration missions. How do they get sustained? Do they just like, run out of power and shut down?

About your second point, I mean not very surprising. Gen-3s are human in all but name, at least physically speaking. In truth, they're closer to Star Wars style Clones, than to normal Rogue AI trope. There's a reason people can't figure out who's a synth and who's not after all.

Re: the theory about Vault-Tec starting the Great War:

My belief correlates with Oxhorn (source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yl9RG4M48JU) that China did start the Great War of 2077, because if their world was going to end in the hands of the United States, then why would they not resist the urge to go out with a bang instead of facing up to the defeat in the hands of the United States?

The evacuation of the Enclave to the secret bunkers also indicates the Enclave being aware that China would not simply take the loss of Alaska too kindly.

The Vault-Tec conspiracy theory also seems to highlight that conspiracy theories still live on in the world of Fallout, especially since the Great War destroyed nearly all of human knowledge.

Mod help + recommendations

Postby The Brytish Isles » Sun Mar 31, 2019 2:35 am

Xbox One user here,

I’m planning a modded playthrough of Fallout 4 and would like some help with mod load orders, what mods to use and what mods to not use. I want to make the Commonwealth look and feel much darker, grittier and eerie than what we got from Bethesda. Think of the Pilgrim and complementing mods + Metro and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: that’s the stuff I want. I also want to expand the range of lore-friendly items (clothing, weapons, consumables, etc) I can find across the Commonwealth, Far Harbour and Nuka World.

Would anyone have any particular mod recommendations? Here’s what I have currently installed: Calamity Weathers, Calamity Weathers - Interiors, Reverb and Ambiance Overhaul, D.E.C.A.Y - Better Ghouls and a few mods that add more outfits & clothing (Clothing of the Commonwealth, Commonwealth Surplus). What else could/should I add? I’d also like to include stuff like locational damage and something to do with settlement building.

Many thanks,
Vers

P.S. The character I will be running will emerge from Vault 111 and begin their journey in search for Shaun, soon becoming more adjusted to the wasteland, dressing and fighting as such. My starting attire would consist of stuff like raider leathers, leather armour and a gas mask. Weapon wise, I’ll mainly use (pipe) rifles but also a shotgun.

It is rumoured to exist. Personally I suspect that the pictures and videos are just from a poorly conceived Fallout 4 mod.

Fallout 76 exists, but it was a rushed disaster. There have been occasions where I thought the Trading Standards were close to investigating the canvas duffel bag saga.
