They are an absolute nightmare.

One of the worst things in this game is trying to backpedal from one and getting stuck on something, i panic like mad when that happens.

I actually managed to survive a close-range blast (somehow, probably a bug) while I was walking the Freedom Trail. The other day I finally managed to kill one without the bomb going off (I may or may not have been several floors above the idiot, and then fast traveled away without remembering to grab the nuke). Actually set one of the fucker's bombs off yesterday.

Just use them as pack mules and cannon fodder. It's what I do.

Except anywhere with elevators or doors, where they can just fuck the hell off.

Allah akbar super mutants are best mutants.

One day we'll get a mod that plays Nasheed and ISIS clips as they charge us.

Rule #17 of Fallout 4 - You see super mutants, you send your companion to pave the way. Works every time.

I have enough situational awareness to not need one.

I suppose I could see someone with a terminal case of 'git gud' needing companions I guess :>>>>>>>>>>>>

Someone's gotta carry all the loot, and I have to lug around the Fat Man, minigun and missile launcher on top of all the other shit.

Or I could use power armour. I have got enough fusion cores.

Hmm. Shall try this.

Just came across my old battered Minutemen T51 power armour suit. Left it outside the National Guard Training Yard about a week ago after it took a suicide mutant up close.

Speaking of the National Guard Training Yard, there is more power armour here, time to get to work.

'Situational awareness'?
If you're anything like me, that translates to 'clicking into VATS almost constantly to scan for enemies'. :p

Speaking of power armor, I decided to see if I could survive a point-blank mini-nuke detonation at point blank range. From full health it took me down to about 10%.

Same. Rather useful for finding hiding ghouls.

Not so useful for finding the super mutant suicider who's sitting on a chair right next to the door of the train car you just got in. There was lots of running away.

This wasn't a suicider, this was a Fat Man aimed directly at my feet.

I don't have enough ranks to build the jetpack yet.

Tesla coils for days.

Anyway, once I get home, I'm going to go for a run in the Glowing Sea. I've got a mix-match suit of T60 and X-01 (modded with tesla coils, helmet sensors, etc. I'm wearing a Hazmat suit under it). I lent Piper my assault rifle (w/ about 400 rounds of 5.56) and a full suit of T60. I got about 400 fusion cells, 2000 5mm, 250 plasma cartridges and 20 mini nukes, along with 50 doses of Rad-Away, 70 Rad-X and 140 Stimpaks.

I still don't like this...

It could be worse. I'm just about to make my run, and I'm going in with a suit of T-60 (lead plated, calibrated legs to increase carry weight and rad scrubbers in the helmet so I don't start glowing from what I eat), Piper in a mishmash of everything but X-01 (also lead plated), I'll be carrying a minigun with a few hundred rounds, a Fat Man with three mini-nukes, a sniper rifle, a revolver, and a shotgun, plus Piper with her own minigun (I'm going to see about buying more ammo in Diamond City before I leave), a hazmat suit in case I need to get out and change fusion cores, thirty fusion cores, God only knows how many bullets, something like sixty each of Rad-Away, Rad-X and stimpacks, and enough other chems to kill every behemoth in America.

Pfft. You guys are such cowards. Went in with a full suit of T-60 II, 10 Radaway, 18 Stimpacks, 11 shells, 120~ .38, 17 .44, 35 10mm.

And 3 mini-nukes.

I left with no shells, .38, .44, 9 10mm, 5 Radaway, 16 Stimpacks, and 2 mini-nukes. Broke the T-60s legs and arms too.

It's really not that bad, unless you decide to do and fight everything.

Holy shit that Courser was fucking WEAK. The entire level beforehand was spent with people warning me that it'll be too hard to beat. The entire level itself was littered with miniscule enemies and uncharacteristically generous loot staches.

And then I come to the actual fight and it ended within ten seconds. He didn't even get a single shot on me. He activated his stealth boy, I ripped out my Explosive Combat Shotgun and just mashed the mouse button as if I was playing Cookie Clicker. I blinked once and by the time I opened my eyes he was dead. Didn't take a single point of damage.

Nice.

Bastard was too mobile for me, especally with that stealth boy making him just too difficult to see and my lack of shotgun shells (I'd used them up clearing the Gunners out), so I just backed him into a corner and bayoneted him to death.
