basically its sanposting
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

Whereas soxposting is simply shitposting. Usually done while drunk.

Well there's multiple things to update on.

Firstly, I romanced Curie.

Secondly, I got into the Insititue
and helped that Z1 guy plan his rebellion, plus the tunnel "incident".

Thirdly,
warned the Railroad about Bunker Hill and helped take down the BoS and synths.

Neither did i, but then again, most of the time i spent with the Institute involved blowing them to pieces and cutting them down with laser weapons.

I sided with the Institute my first playthrough, since I can't imagine a guy from way before synths were a thing siding with the people helping them, and definitely can't see him siding with the people opposing his son. It doesn't help that the BoS are glorified raiders.

Is it just me or does the difficulty jump way up after you first enter the Institute?

I talked to Garvey about having gotten another settlement to side with us, and he sends me on one of those "defend the settlement" missions.

I go there and there are literally 5-6 super mutant brutes with miniguns. I had to use the Fat Man to take them down, and it ended up killing the settlers in the process.

When I report back to Garvey, he tells me to go help out at one of our settlements. It's a kidnapping, and they send me out to a base full of high-level gunners with assaultrons.

Like Jesus Christ...

That's expected, Level 30 is when things get amped up, regardless of preset difficulty.

I had raiders raid Greentop Nursery exclusively with Missile Launchers, and a few Power Armor suits.

The BoS are hardly glorified raiders, considering they have a chain of command based on more than "Were you able to murder your predecessor?" While the majority of the Commonwealth is living off of whatever they can scavenge, the Brotherhood actually has standardized equipment that wasn't put together in some guy's garage. Raiders are living in tents and bombed-out buildings, the BoS has an air conditioned airship. There's structure, there's order, there's advanced technology, in a place where that stuff is no longer common.

I mean I still had to kill them, but I can how it would appeal to a pre-war soldier given their militaristic overtones, if you don't mind the whole "humanity master race" thing

He was a giant faggot and, as a father, it is your parental duty to put an end to such faggotry.

Seriously, the way Shaun just kind offhandedly goes "Oh yeah, I let you out of the vault because I got really bored and wanted to see what you would do" is worthy of a complete disownment on its own.

To be fair, he was a baby the last time he saw you. He knows you're his father in the biological sense, but beyond that has no memory of you and no knowledge of what you were like. By letting you out and seeing that you not only still care enough to come looking for him after all these years, but that you're willing to risk life and limb to get him back when you could have just as easily lived out your days in a nice shack by the coast, he knows all he needs to know about you: That you were a good father/mother and that you loved him more than anything else.
