We believed, we believed, we believed

You guys were asking how Black Sabbath was.

Here you go, blabbermouth happened to claim to have "quality footage" of the Chicago concert. I was there. I saw all this, and I was headbanging, all while breathing in tons of second-hand pot:

Bam.

Fucking amazing. Especially when they played Children of the Grave, I flipped shit, because they played Paranoid (LOOK AT ALL THE FUCKING SHIT FALLING FROM THE CEILING IN THE VIDEO) and then played that as an encore and it was amazing. A great ending to a great concert.

Just some random guy, I don't really know how to describe it to you, we talked for a couple of minutes before you stopped posting all together.

Kar-Esseria wrote:I've decided I am going to try my best to become a singer, short vocal range be damned. I can pull off power metal for sure, maybe doom and some more mainstream metal, ordinary heavy metal probably. Of course I don't plan to do solely metal, instead I'm just going to make music and not worry about what genre it fits in.

But now I have to ask, is being a singer enough? Should I learn the guitar to? I think that would help with musical direction, more specifically songwriting. I think it'd be best to know how to play at least one instrument so that I show bandmates the sound I think would best fit with the lyrics and vocal direction. Lots of singers tend to play the guitar, but there are also lots that don't, so I'm a bit conflicted about this.

Thoughts!? Not that anyone cares, I'm sure. ;)

In all honesty, I would focus on the vocals. Learning to play guitar is not easy; learning to play and sing at the same time is even more difficult. There are heaps of singers that play guitar, but I would bet that the vast majority either focus solely on their voice, or play piano instead (which has its own challenges, mind you). If you're serious about becoming a singer, take voice lessons. The style of singing is irrelevant, since the techniques that any instructor will show you will translate in one form or another into different genres; not only that, but it would also help expand your range to be more dynamic and access different registers.

I was actually already planning to do that.

Thanks for the advice on the guitar though!

Remu Aaltonen, Gil Moore. The two Impy mentioned.

Oh and Kreator's drummer shared lead singer duties with Mille on the first three albums.

Clearly it's not enough, but that's just too bad for Robby. I'm currently too busy listening to Revolting Cocks to get all hyped up about his personal preferences.
CVT Temp wrote:I mean, we can actually create a mathematical definition for evolution in terms of the evolutionary algorithm and then write code to deal with abstract instances of evolution, which basically equates to mathematical proof that evolution works. All that remains is to show that biological systems replicate in such a way as to satisfy the minimal criteria required for evolution to apply to them, something which has already been adequately shown time and again. At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.
