Sure, it has cult value thanks to Rytmihäiriö but it tastes like shit

There is actually a vodka brand called Sisu Viina.

Does Dave still have those weird vocals on Dystopia for the whole album?

Dude, those effects make it better. The man had trouble singing before, but in his older age and after spinal surgery, the piled on effects make it better, because he just can't sing.

I actually agree with this. The rest of the album doesn't quite live up to the title track and "Wake Up Dead" for me. Surprisingly, I find Dystopia actually has more really memorable songs (...but also a few turds).

There are still some highly-rated Megadeth albums I need to hear in full though (Killing, So Far, Endgame).

The Conjuring and Devils island were also good. The jazz moments on this album worked for peace sells only.

Dystopia is the best album this year, so far. When comparing to other Megadeth albums, it's the best since The System Has Failed. It ties with the debut and The System, it's only beaten by So Far and RIP.

Poisonous Shadows is probably one of my new favorite Megadeth songs. Best song of the new album for sure.

The Emperor is the worst song on the album.

That about sums up my favorites as well. Although, there isn't really a "bad" song on the album. Even the weakest points are really good.

Dystopia, the song, feels like a spiritual successor to Hangar 18, having a similar progression and being the mountain of guitars that it is.

Bullet to the Brain and Poisonous Shadows were my least favorite songs of the album, along with The Emperor.

My favorites were The Threat Is Real, Lying in State and Dystopia.

I didn't really enjoy So Far, So Good, So What. The first half of this album wasn't that good. The only 2 songs I really liked were Darkest Hour and Liar. I guess 502 and Hook were good but as a whole this album is the biggest disappointment since my birth. I hereby resign my status as quarter decent metalhead. Until further notice and judgement I am now lower than Kar.

That's actually not a super-controversial opinion. So Far consistently gets rated lower than the album before and after it. I love "In My Darkest Hour", but haven't heard the rest yet. It has some really cool song titles though.

Not joining the Megadeth circle jerk currently reaching a feverish climax in this thread does not mean you don't like metal. It just means you're not a hanger-on.

People used to think that my affinity for intense music would be temporary. Clearly this was a miscalculation. It's not a phase, it's much more horrible. IT HAS BECOME A PART OF ME.
