Helstar is probably equal parts thrash and neoclassic metal too, but is considered an influential early work in US Power Metal.

Persuader is closer to pure modern power metal, but is more aggressive than most.

Iced Earth also have their moments when they sound pretty sinister.

Negura Bunget seems intriguing. Added to my backlog.

Funny enough, I added the album Om to my backlog, and the band Negura Bunget goes right above the band OM in my backlog

Also, unsurprisingly, apparently my dad has heard of them. Swear my dad hears of everything.

Edit: You know what, I'm going to edit. Holy shit this song is amazing.

I've been listening to Vintru's debut EP and Gherzen's album "1917" for a while now. I also plan on listening to Vikhr's "Wind is Colder" once I finish "1917".

Black metal album binge listening is a good way to pass time.

Youtube and Bandcamp. The Der Schwarze Tod bandcamp page has a bunch of Russian black and folk bands, like Bastion, Vikhr and Gherzen.
