Come on Max, get over it already.... You're the one who chose to leave the band for goodness sake! It's been 20 years since you left and 10 since Igor left.

Can't you be happy with Cavalera Conspiracy? You can't change the past man.

He's the one who's playing Roots beginning to end with his brother and might do the same with some previous Sepultura albums. Would people actually bother if the current lineup of Sepultura did that?

Cavalera is a mess.

I personally wouldn't mind if the current lineup did, but then again, they have/had their 30th anniversary tour.

This Sigur Ros song honestly sounded really quite metal live

I know a lot of their stuff (That isn't their full on mellow stuff) is heavy rock in general, but this one was probably the most "metal" they get. Glad they played this song live because it's one of my favorites off of Kveikur. No Breinnisteinn, my other favorite (And the two that are probably the closest to metal Sigur Ros you can get)

Saw Scar Symmetry last night!

The turnout wasn't spectacular (a Tuesday night)...but that ended up making it the most intimate concert I've been to. Per Nilsson was shredding mere inches from my face for a lot of the night (first row). Lars Palmqvist came over, knelt and headbanged in-sync with me several times. I think I gave every member of the band at least one fist bump or hi-five. Per played his encore guitar solo IN THE AUDIENCE pretty close to me. Lars also came into the audience and sang with us all during "The Illusionist", which was the set closer. He even put the mic in front of me for a few seconds to sing a segment of the chorus. At the end, I caught one of Per's guitar picks, and later got my Dark Matter Dimensions poster signed by all six members. So even though the crowd was relatively small, it was super energetic with everybody singing and headbanging. You could tell the band appreciated the support on their first headlining tour outside of Europe.

Setlist for anyone interested
Amazing video I got of "Noumenon and Phenomenon" with extreme close-up on the legendary solo

Since it was the final date of the tour, they brought all three opening acts on the stage for "Morphogenesis", which was pretty insane. That and a few more uploads on my YouTube.

I found an interesting way to play stoner. Tune a 4 string bass to D# plug it into a guitar amp crank up the gain, bend the strings hard, pluck a string. Stoner

Yeah, it was a good time. Especially since I ended up dragging a couple friends along and having a beer at a show for the first time

Symmetric In Design is easily the weakest one, for me. I would place DMD fourth or fifth. And like most people, Holographic Universe is my favorite.

I went through the latest seven and the only bands I recognized were Defeated Sanity and Abnormality. Never listened to the latter though.

EDIT: Checked his Top 100 of 2015 and there the breakdown was:

Heard about, but not listened to: Morbid Vomit, MGLA, Hate Eternal
Listened to, but not the release mentioned: Cryptopsy
Listened to: Sulphur Aeon – Gateway to The Antisphere, Sotajumala – Raunioissa, Desolate Shrine – The Heart Of The Netherworld

Iniquitous Deeds made my day. Funny enough, in The Black Dahlia Murder's Majesty DVD which was filmed during their tour for Nocturnal, Trevor actually predicted how in 2016 pig squeals would sound like farting. Just listen to half the crazy slam out now.

The Divine Wings of Tragedy is sooo good so far.
I am thou, thou art I. Thou hast acquired a new vow. It shall become the wings of rebellion that breakth thy chains of captivity.
"And now, standing on this mountain of brave corpses, I have quite the view." - Erwin Smith
“You know the difference between me and you? I bleed red and you bleed green.” - Avon Barksdale
Where was your star?
Was it far, was it far?
When did we leave?
We believed, we believed, we believed

In the heat and the rain
With whips and chains
Just to see him fly
Too many died
We build a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
To see him fly
But we don't know why
Ooh, now where do we go

Listening to The Anthropocene Extinction, some lyrics of Circo Inhumanitas caught my ear:

"Bring out the children there's still time to
teach them the ways of human slime
to ignore the compassion they have inside
"

I'm not sure if this is jibe at religion or consumerist-capitalism...either way, still some of my favorite lyrics of the album. :meh:

New Opeth song is pretty decent. Not as good as Will O The Wisp but still good. I've totally lost any interest in Pale Communion besides the first 3 songs and the last one so still hoping that Sorceress is passable.

New Obituary album is coming up. I hope it's less thrashy than Inked in Blood. Yes yes i know what you're thinking "Who are you and what have you done with Naz?" I shockingly found that the thrash elements in Inked in Blood made it nearly unlistenable.
