The salmon one is new to me though

It's not metal, but a Sigur Ros song, someone posted the lyrics they heard and I can't stop hearing it anymore. It makes it easier to hear it however you want when it is one of their songs that I don't think has any actual lyrics, just singing. They did that for an entire album (Untitled, probably why it's called Untitled)

Edit: I googled it, and got lyrics for it, but they weren't translated to English, and I translated them and it made no sense...so I dunno.

Edit 2: Okay, someone said it was in Hopelandic, their made up language, which from what I've heard is just Jonsi singing in a way that flows with the music, and isn't really any lyrics.

This is how someone said they heard it and now I can't not hear it that way.
You rise and I fall
You rise and I fall
You rise (I can't pick this part up)
You rise and I fall
You rise and I fall
You rise and I fall

Oh brother. Ugh. I don't really care, but it's kinda sad to see In Flames seemingly on the verge of falling off a cliff.

Although, it kind of reminds me of how several members of alt rock band Taproot came from death metal band Morta Skuld.

Fortunately we have a good alternative in the form of Infant Annihilator. I know I'm supposed to consider the band to be sub-par, but I actually found their music to be rather enjoyable for more reasons than the drummer alone. There were even melodic and epic elements in their songs, which is rather uncommon for a band with such a goreladen concept.

Not sure what IF and IA have in common but fair enough. The current vocalist is basically Travis Ryan Jr.

I want a full metal version of The Lion King. With Be Prepared as a death metal tune.

Let's say that both bands feature melodic elements in their music, even though I'm fully aware that is an awfully broad statement. Not that I really care, but at least I'm aware.

That Slice the Cake album I really liked is on Spotify now. Hooray, especially since they're more or less a nonexistant project now.

The band. Yes it's stupid but ignore that. The album in question is Odyssey to the West and it's an incredible opus of progressive death metal with hints of deathcore. Their website has a PDF of lyrics, it's quite literally poetry put to metal.

Not the worst band name I've ever seen.

Yesss. One of my favorite villain song ever (along with EGGS). I always thought it would make a truly sinister black/symphblack song, actually

I just can't take them seriously with that name. It's like We Butter The Bread With Butter without the intentional stupidity. Like, what were they thinking? Sounds like it doesn't fit the music at all.

And yeah the band name doesn't fit the music even remotely. And something tells me it was an intentionally dumb name.

That song of The Hunchback of the Notre Dame sounds like something that could be reworked without too much trouble by Fleshgod Apocalypse, while the Lion King song Be Prepared seems like something that is more to the taste of Laibach.

No that's another Fleshgod.

Strangely connected, but this might be my next review.

Either Laibach, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Dol Ammad or Haggard would probably do a better job.

I'm relistening to Caladan Brood's Echoes of Battle for the thousandth time now, this time including the Summoning covers. I wish I had a proper vinyl player, because this masterpiece deserves to be played like that.

Most black metal deserves the vinyl listen. I'm going to get myself a 4-in-1 soon.
