Not saying it isn't possible (I mean you exist) but in my experience the only people that don't like Cattle Decap are people who don't like death metal in general or people who think they're somehow mainstream. Yes, because Cattle Decap is hitting the charts with kids these days.

Wouldn't that be interesting. Could you imagine the talk of music "infecting children's minds today" of they were on the charts?

I don't hate Parkway Drive and they're not nearly as well known here in the States. But I do not care for them at all.

If anything over here the only properly metal band that gets much radio attention (and I don't mean more local stuff and the like) here is Metallica. So either the rest of the world knows that there are too many "mainstream metal" bands or the rest of the world doesn't know how lucky it is.

I went through Bend, Oregon recently and I heard Primus - Too Many Puppies on the radio. Seriously wanted to dig out that station again because they had a weird mix of crappy stuff I've never heard of and stuff that I was like "Wait what, this is on the radio?". Some David Bowie I never heard before, multiple non radio hit Nine Inch Nails songs, Primus, and I even think Ministry played once.

I always heard it as "I like juice" ...

The salmon one is new to me though

That's a really strange song - props to the station for being unafraid to make random listeners uncomfortable. I listened to it in the shower once and my roommate gave me the weirdest look afterwards (I usually only play "normal" music in the shower when there are other people home haha). I definitely don't have any radio stations like that around here though.

Well, it seems that I too am an exception.

I haven't had that much experience with the band, but from what I heard, they didn't appeal all that much to me. I will admit that they're pretty good instrumentally, but the thing that lets it down for me is the vocals. They're certainly tolerable, but they just don't strike me as being as special as everyone makes them out to be.

Such an amazing drummer being wasted on such a mediocre band. 85% of IA's quality is drumming. Sign this guy up for cattle decap or Anaal Nathrakh who are imo the only two bands who do super brutal right.

I have to agree with you there. Almost every time when I hear someone give praise to IA, they only talk about how insane their drummer is and nothing else. Mind you, that hardly counts as praising the band's efforts in its entirety.

Anyway, I've always found it hard to come across bands that do brutal well. Besides AN, this band comes to mind as being both brutal and enjoyable at the same time. I don't know how brutal this album sounds to everyone else, but to me it came across as being much darker/heavier than a lot of other shit that I have heard. Whatever the case, it's a worthwhile listen.

I've been listening to his music for some years now. It just takes to know the general vibe of every release; oft relying on mood and ambiance. He's quite a niche artist. Somehow I like his music but not DiS'.

Oh brother. Ugh. I don't really care, but it's kinda sad to see In Flames seemingly on the verge of falling off a cliff.

Although, it kind of reminds me of how several members of alt rock band Taproot came from death metal band Morta Skuld.
