I haven't heard that particular song yet, but Suicidal Tendencies are known for a punky style of thrash metal called Crossover Thrash. Their early work was closer to straight-up hardcore punk.

I'm going to get hate for saying this but in much of the 2000s, metalcore (or at least the super popular branch i.e. Bring Me The Horizon and Bullet For My Valentine) was the classic rock of that decade.

For me it was the "alternative metal" (AKA angsty but catchy heavy rock) bands like Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, and Seether. Though I can see metalcore bands like All That Remains and Killswitch Engage eventually coming to be seen in that light too.

I don't really dislike it (maybe because I heard it so much from my mom and sister), was just posting some of the angsty, edgy lyrics :P

I see your point but the heavier metalcore bands like All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, and Killswitch Engage weren't nearly as popular as either the radio alt metal bands you mentioned or the "poppier" metalcore that I mentioned previously.

By the way on Spotify there's ANOTHER In Flames song which, despite having some heavier riffs hidden, is even worse than The End and EVEN MORE KIDDIE BACKING. No screams to be heard at all, and even though IF has been able to do all-singing songs well before (Come Clarity title track for instance), this is just...NO.

Or thrashcore. Since the thrash sound was pioneered by heavier punk bands such as Discharge, Amebix and Axegrinder, it's pretty much a moot point.

I don't think it contains excessive use of solos like Clap Like Ozzy did. Plus, thrashcore isn't associated with thrash metal at all despite the similar name and thrash being influenced by hardcore itself.

Yeah, I didn't even realize it was Lombardo. I always notice his drumming, but yet, not this song.

I'm just going to assume every member of In Flames decided to give their kids the same birthday present: Appearing on the new album, even if they didn't want to.

New Sodom album is out. Thus far it kicks ass. This is going to sound silly but some of the production and a touch of the riffs remind me of a thrashy melechesh. Alright i am very confused I'M HEARING MELECHESH IN A SODOM ALBUM.

Angelripper seems to have a Kerry King mentality of "change is bad, do exactly the same thing or you're a sellout" not to mention a complete disregard for any bands that are newer than his. However if this is what his new album sounds like it interests me a fair bit.

Because in my opinion In Flames is overrated. I only gave The Jester Race a 4/5 because objectively anything lower is wrong and i didn't enjoy it so it can't be higher.

I may hate melodeath but objectively The Jester Race is a good album 4/5 material. For example Hell Awaits is the most boring classic Slayer album and I almost slept through it but it was still good.

That makes no fucking sense! If you almost slept through an album, how can it possibly be that good? In my book that just screams "BAD MUSIC". Or do you rate music for acceptance?
