Oh, what?

Brandon Small announced the end of Dethklok due to Adult Swim's cancellation of Metalocalypse despite the efforts of the "Metalocalypse Now" campaign.

Like on my list, spots 16-22 are all ImpNaz. It looks rather... fanboyish.

I got to 40 albums before deciding to add another Panopticon and Lustre album.

Putting together a top 100 is a lot harder than it sounds. I'm trying to avoid putting up more than one release per band.

Added you! But wow, your page is completely blank. Go rate some albums or something :p

Meh. It was a cool show, but I never got past Season 1 since they took it off Netflix.

Oh, ok. I'll look forward to seeing your list. And add me back when you're done ;)

I don't think I've listened to enough albums in any one subgenre to form a meaningful Top 100. It'd just be like....all the albums I've heard.

For me the top 100 was basically a "better half of all I've heard" :p
And as you probably noticed, there were quite a few bands with 5 or more entries...

I guess it goes without saying that those top 100 lists I make (black/thrash/heavy) are constantly changing, but the top 10-15 are probably there to stay.

Oh, Cosumar...

Anyway I will never do top 100 because my top 100 favorite artists list kept changing to the point where I was getting headaches from it. Never going past 50.

Oh and I might be the only one here who ISN'T that big a fan of Metalocalypse or Dethklok's music.

I lowered it to 50 because I didn't want to end up posting entire discographies of good bands, or just posting the obvious second wave albums. The list is of albums that I've really enjoyed and regularly listen to, not the definitive "best", "essential" or "most influential" black metal albums of all time. It also spans a bunch of different subgenres and fusion genres.

50 Awesome Black Metal Albums.

The reason why I did albums, never gonna do artists.

Galborea wrote:Oh and I might be the only one here who ISN'T that big a fan of Metalocalypse or Dethklok's music.

Their first album was great, the rest were not even close.

Now that I think about it, I might lower it to 50 as well and do some adjustments. Then it'd go with the other top 50 albums list I already made, the reason for that first list was the lack of albums to make 100.

On an unrelated note, I got one of these "first world problems". The problem being Morbid Saint's album Spectrum of Death. RYM says it was released in 1988 but most other sources say it was released in 1990. And now I'm not sure what year I should assign it to, especially since it could fit in my top 10 for BOTH years.

Fixed.

Did favorites of death metal and melodeath as well. A little bit of overlap but still. I'm currently working on the progressive metal list.

It used to be my favorite as it was one of the first black metal albums I ever heard. However as of now I consider it the weakest Immortal album. Still good, just not as enjoyable as the classics.
