Screenshot and outline it, because I can't see it. (You can advance YT videos frame by frame using the < and > keys)

For me, the left and right arrow keys skip backward or forward five seconds (the J and L keys skip backward or forward ten seconds)

EDIT: Nevermind, you literally mean the keys that have the comma and period marks. I learned something new today.

Platypus Bureaucracy wrote:Thus ends the most mediocre series. Not a single episode I'd call good, let alone great.

I trust that all the people in this thread who spent its entirety moaning about Moffat are feeling suitably silly.

Chibnall is like the anti-Moffat. Moffat's stories were zany, unnecessarily overcomplicated, and overladen with mythology, and always crammed too much in and made too much of the Doctor's reputation. Chibnall, on the other hand, seems to go for slow burners where very little happens with simplistic plots. His version of the Doctor often seems to have no idea what she's doing and has no real air of authority. I feel like Chibnall watched Moffat's series and had many of the same criticisms of it as I did (well, except for the fact that he also felt it was sorely lacking in skull-smashingly unsubtle social commentary), but went overboard in trying to correct them and ended up with a series that was just as bad as Moffat's, but in a totally different way. That having been said, there were some decent episodes this season; I liked "The Witchfinders" and "Kerblam!", and most of the others were just a bit slow rather than totally irredeemable. The worst episode of the season for me was probably "Rosa."

I feel like I'm never going to warm to Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor, but you never know. I'm going to agree with what seems to be the consensus opinion that Graham is the best companion. He certainly seems to be the only one with any substantial depth. Looking forward to seeing the Daleks in the New Year, even if I feel they could have benefitted from a longer absence. Even when they're in awful stories I find them entertaining in themselves. I'll be disappointed if it somehow turns out not to be the Daleks, partly because I'm now getting hyped about seeing them and partly because any other creature being referred to as "the most dangerous in the [Doctor Who] universe" is bullshittery.
Earthbound immortal squad wrote:
Philjia wrote:It could be a redesign. I hope it's a redesign. The RTD era Daleks are a great design but they've been in use for over a decade, so we're due a change.

Thing is Moffat did the redesign but then he just abandoned it for some reason still beyond me.

Probably because his redesign was more or less universally derided. If the Daleks are redesigned again, it had better be a better effort than last time.
Ameriganastan wrote:For God's sake, it better not be the Weeping Angels. They need to stay gone.

The Weeping Angels were a fantastic one-off villain that should never have been reused. Their gimmick simply did not bear repeating, and they became less threatening every time they came back. Not that they're the only Doctor Who villains to suffer from villain decay, but in their case it was particularly pronounced because as bad guys they work well for the particular episode concept they were invented for, but don't have the flexibility other repeating villains have. The same goes for the Silence. I'd say the only villains created post-2005 that really merit being brought back are the Ood.

Nah. The Time Lords are hiding way at the end of the universe since they came back. I doubt Tim Shaw would have been able to find them.

I know that I'm just saying out of all the planets they could show they choose a planet that looks like it and this series has had lots of references to former series so I'm just saying it may not just be a coincidence.

They were hecking fun, but frankly I'd just prefer my last memory of them in the show to be pleasant. They got a pretty dignified exit along with most of the RTD stuff, and I'm deeply afraid of the precedent it could set if they started rooting around back there again.

Thinking if we're not going to get a new series in 2019, I could just re-binge all of the episodes from 2005 to now.

I feel like the Tim Shaw storyline in the final episode was written for Missy before chibbers decided to go full-on no returning monsters. He was good, but not as good as Missy seeking revenge for the Doctor convincing her to be good and nearly killing her

Is doesn't seem like a Master/Missy kind of plan. Stealing planets? Tim Shaw and Daleks, sure, but not Missy. They've consistently managed to direct all their aims for revenge on the Doctor by targeting Earth, because it's clear the Doctor cares about Earth, I don't think we have any reason to believe they have revenge targets on other planets.

That's rather interesting to read normally if the media don't back something you know it is genuinely rubbish but this is interesting I do think though looking at a lot of these complainers they are almost all of a small age range (teenage to young adult) which really isn't doctor who's main market with it being families and their young children. As for the watching figures Doctor who is now on a Sunday night so less people will be able to watch, also there are many other ways to watch it now I-player etc which won't be countered on these figures beside 5 million odd is still very impressive. I think people are just blowing steam after the Moffat era I do think the complaints will die down a good new years special could really help that happen.

In the Series 3 Master Trilogy, how exactly did the Master become Prime Minster? Brits don't elect their prime ministers like us Americans elect the President, iirc, right? What party was he?

I also mean outside of the satellite plot as well...

Edit: As Prime Ministers are not elected directly, he had to have ran for Parliament first, then convince his majority party with the satellites to make him Prime Minister...

Then again the story made it seem like a Presidential election...

He started his own party, and got people to join it because he'd already set up the hypnosis satellites as part of the previous government.
