OK, now I'm confused. If ratings are going down like we keep being told they are, where is this 47% viewer growth coming from?

The ratings are entirely consistent with every other New-Who Doctor's first series, including Capaldi. Once the series is over I'll put the comparative episode by episode ratings comparison graph I've been compiling up, but I can tell you right now all the talk about big gains or losses in viewers are stupid and overstated.

thought the episode tried to have the enigmatic edge of 'The Prisoner' - which it failed miserably at and it became an incoherant mess. In many ways the shows have been amongst the worst I've seen. Having said that Bradley Walsh is amongst the best companions I've seen.

After looking that up yep - the script miserably tries to explain the situation with long winded bullshit - leave it be, the phrase- less is more is appropriate. the standout episodes- rosa parkes- but too preachy. The Indian one and the ghost monument. Hopefully, the next series will be better and this doctor comes of age and isn't as irritating and the New Year one doesn't give me indigestion.

The New Year's special is obviously going to have the Daleks in it, so 13's shallow morals in regards to violence are have to going to be challenged or ignored. I'd prefer the former but the latter's easier so I wouldn't put it past Chibnall to choose it.

Nice call with the Daleks- especially as they said there wouldn't be any of the old monsters in the series. Hopefully, you're right and the script is taut and Wilfrid Mott wouldn't go amiss: his reaction to the Doctor being a woman might be amusing. Almost looking forward to it now.

Moffat's episodes were worse than Chibnall's (although they were more fascinatingly awful) but under Moffat there tended to be more good episodes from other writers. (Aside from the thoroughly rubbish Series 7 and Series 9)

Not really this series has been much better than the last few. But one thing you can't debate is you could understand these episodes which is more than I can say about Moffat's series.

I feel the exact opposite. Moffat occasionally got rather self-indulgent, but even his self-indulgent episodes usually hung together as coherent, competent narratives. This season? Not so much.

If not the Daleks, the only one who might come close would probably have to be the Master- which fits with the mention of the Time Lords.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing the Ice warriors, cybermen and the Yeti(vague memory of them being down the London Underground) again some time in the future.

Breaks even for me. The good episodes were enjoyable, and the bad ones were beyond preachy and annoying. I'm hoping he evolves past the preachy part by next season. Anyway, okay season.
