Season 5 is the first season for Matt Smith's doctor, i'd say you could jump in, most doctor who episodes are stand alones, i.d say there are only a few things you might be lost on that could pop up but nothing major iirc

Matt coming in was effectively a soft reboot - while from Chris to David and to a lesser extent from Matt to Peter there was continuity, from David to Matt everything started fresh.

If you have Amazon Prime - I know not everybody does - then all ten seasons of New Who are on there.

I got a $50 amazon gift card, which is kind and generous and very nice of the person to have given me, but also, "C'mon, that's less than half of what I'd need for Amazon Prime...what a tease!" (giving me a full amazon prime membership would have been a ridiculous gift...just in case people think I'm an ungrateful jerk with stupid expectations.)

My income is variable, the fewer recurring bills the better. Not like this is an issue that presses on my mind or anything. It's more the passing thought I had when I saw the card. "Oh, almost a prime membership...alas..."
