Now that I have the Ameri Seal of Disapproval, I really know that it was a great episode.

Also, it wasn't a fakeout regeneration so much as a delayed cliffhanger. It's still happening, we just have to wait six months.

It was a fakeout. It was amusing the first time. Kind of funny the second time. Third time? It becomes annoying.

Oh, so I just imagined all that "He may not be in the Christmas special" stuff. Oh, silly me...

Well, those were only rumors that were never confirmed by the BBC. I'm pretty sure they said Capaldi was always going to regenerate in the Christmas special and that it would be an unconventional regeneration.

Yeah it was alright. Better season finale than the last one (from what I remember of it). Bill got her happy ending which was alright, I suppose. Kind of with one of the other posters here on the constant *regenerating, not regenerating* thing but actually think it worked somewhat here. They showed no prior reluctance of Capaldi's Doc to regenerate but this did feel more like an unfinished business reluctance rather than Tennant's Doc's emotional reluctance.

Was stoked to see the First Doctor back. Good wee twist that.

Also, what was the point of the Master/Missy at all? Nice to see them and to see Missy's softer side but it could've (should've) been used more methinks.

I'm... okay with this as long as she doesn't hog the screen time like she did when she was a companion. I wouldn't mind seeing the Ponds getting a cameo as well.

Well, that last series was the best in a long time by my judgement. There wasn't really a bad episode, but the last episode was weaker than the season as a whole and left a lot of annoying threads hanging, which is a real shame since the series had been so strong up until then and the finale did have some great ideas rolling around. The resolution was a complete Deus ex machina and totally unsatisfying.

On the other hand, I look forward to the Christmas special. It's pretty cool to see Number One back. It does feel a little... Wrong to cast another actor in Hartnell's part, but they have done it before for The Five Doctors. I like seeing references to the classic series, but I hope that they don't mess around too much with the continuity.

Of course these are just unconfirmed rumors at this point, but she seems more than capable in the role, and would sure as hell be better suited for The Doctor than that Kris Marshall guy. As with any rumor, take it with a huge grain of salt until confirmed by the BBC.

Completely agree with you on Marshall. Worst possible choice they could make. Don't know enough about the other two to make a judgement on them.
