Kill the Moon was good too. You people are so picky.

I'm gonna resume my foray into Three's run with "Curse of Peladon" tomorrow. Even if Dick Monster here is in it.

Am I too late to grumble about Class? They had to call it that because the title Pointless had been taken.

Regarding The Girl Who Lived, even with historical and fauna inaccuracy it was a damnsight batter than some of the stuff we had to deal with in series 8 and at least electric eels are a thing that exist, unlike mooneggs.

IMHO, Class, will be aimed at SJA fans grown up. The 8-12 year olds who watched SJA series 1 are 16 or older now, they can watch post-watershed programming. I think it'll have the adult themes and darkness of Torchwood, but with a SJA-esque setting and characters.

I hope Moffat is able to handle it. RTD was, and is.

But on the other hand I'm worried it might be too similar to the RTD era, as both have BTVS as an inspiration (not saying the RTD era or BTVS are bad, just it's a bit of a shame if Dr Who, a show popular for doing things different each week, does the same thing it's done before, even if it is a spin-off).

Do you think Class will still have "The Doctor Embargo", like Torchwood did? Due to airing on BBC3 like Torchwood S1 did, I was curious about that. It might not be post-watershed(9pm), it might air at the same time Dr.Who does, but when Dr. Who proper isn't on TV.

"The Doctor Embargo" prevents the Doctor from appearing in Torchwood, due it being an adult spin-off and the Doctor being beloved by children. What other characters and creatures do you think are part of this embargo, if it all? It doesn't go the other way around, characters from TW can show up in DW, and the Doctor shows up in SJA.

I thought about it a bit more. Did no one else think it was a bit of a weak way to end the first of a two parter? It just sort of died on its arse.

Not really? It's not even much of a two-parter, these are more like linked episodes. The first one was mostly self-contained and ended mostly pretty well, though it left a lot of loose threads, presumably some of which will be tied up tomorrow.

A Doctor Who movie has been announced.

Starring K9. Opposite Omega.

No.

I am not fucking with you.

Do you know how badly I wish I was fucking with you? If I could come up with this, do you not think I would have? This is real. This is a joke that could only have been written by an omnipotent and uncaring God.

We are the playthings of a madman. Go see K9, in theaters 2017.

Its not a Dr Who movie. It's a movie by the group with the rights to K-9 (Which is NOT the BBC) presumably based on their TV show. It won't have the Doctor as they don't have the rights to the doctor. Don't get your hopes up is what I'm saying.

At this point, he may as well be involved too.

Absence of Clara for most of the episode was nice. I didn't like Maisie Williams' acting. Don't know why. Just wasn't very convincing. Everything else was good though.

Is this related to the Australian K9 TV show? The 2nd series has been in development hell for the last few years.

New episode was good. Anyone else think the writer/Moffat is a fan of digimon and power rangers SPD? Glad they mentioned captain Jack. Someone must have created fanworks where Ashildr and Captain Jack Harkness meet each other by now.

I liked the episode. Makes me wonder where they're going with Maisie Williams.

Sleep No More is going to be a stand alone episode, as well as Face the Raven, and it's going to be a found-footage style episode. ...Interesting.

They got the longbow right. I'm so happy. Less happy about Agincourt being where the Hundred Years War started to be won, though.

Apart from that, the episode had a great premise, but inconsistent acting. Overall, pretty good, but could have benefited from more Nimons.

So, throwing this theory out there. The coming episode makes me think
Clara died back in "Last Christmas" and The Doctor has been using a memory wiped Zygon as her replacement.
I mean, they've been foreshadowing the holy Hell out of
her being dead.

That would be creepy as hell.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

SPD?

I'm really quite curious to know because general Digimon themes (i.e. digital issues, bunch of young people/kids, save the world) didn't really appear. No idea about Power Rangers: I'm not familiar with it.

I disagree. The lion-guy being able to be killed by his brothers and the general ending response of the crowd -- karma Houdini I believe is the term -- those weren't particularly convincing. I don't think it is too unreasonable to think of Me's reasoning as being largely in terms of the end justifies the means... she didn't want Alion (what was his name?) to kill the Doctor and was fairly genuinely pleased to have a way out presented by the execution... so once it's apparent that what she's done is not only not achieving what she wanted (i.e. freed from her life) and is killing a whole bunch of people for no purpose (the she believes in) it makes sense.

Much better than the previous episode (maintained attention) and better than the end of the last two parter, but worse than the first lake episode.
