Eh it was alright

I liked the premise of an alien virus using plastic to spread itself across the world, because its such a common thing it would be the perfect method of transport, especially with how much has been cast around the place. But despite that i dont know, i didnt get into the episode that much, it was alright but wouldnt go out of my way to watch it again.

Characters were fine, tho your woman Camilla really got over her mate dying pretty fast lol Totally saw the random black dude dying, but was he one of the aliens then too? I guess so. Same with the auto pilot failing, the auto pilot always fails.

Thought the alien scientist was a bit wasted, and i dont really get her suddenly turning a bit hostile, i get she was planning on using the human race as a test run for a cure and let everyone die, but she didnt come across as that malicious and that she might have worked with the Doctor since she was close to making a cure for Humans anyway.

I liked the Gay Couple, they were well-written.

An Intriguing mystery and a lot of world-jumping was fun.

The anti-plastic message was hammered in a bit too hard though.

The designs of the aliens and the infected humans were good effects.

There was a good episode somewhere in that concept, but just so hamfisted, as per the usual Chibnall offering.

Fun episode.

I'm sorry but Doctor Who is about escapism, not having a 10 minute mental health awareness lecture. And the BBC call line at the end was the final nail in the coffin. This feels too far even by Chibnall's standard it almost feels like the BBC told them to put that in there. Apart from that it was decent but as I've said before I fear it's days are very numbered.

The animation segment was the highlight.

The Nightmare realms idea was cool.

They managed pull off the twist villain thing well.

Eh, I actually felt it was well-incorporated into the story, which was mostly just a Doctor and Companions versus cosmic nightmare forces adventure.

Didn't realise it was a lecture. Also, I don't remember the health line. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

It was a clear lecture. I have heard enough of them over the years. It wasn't even subtle which made it worse. I want Doctor Who to succeed, I've watched it for over a decade, but this formula will drive it into the ground. Which I am now convinced is what the BBC want.

It's gotten better this series, to be fair to him. More ingratiated into the episodes and not a lecture with some semblance of a storyline like last season (barring Orphan 55, which was just awful).

Ah, good old fashioned bit of Hincheliffeian horror. Could have stood for less of the Doctor and co's unfunny dialogue.

Should have predicted the Cyberman, since Mary Shelley was the companion in The Silver Turk and the Cyberman story comes next.

I had a feeling that this would be the lone Cyberman episode. Probably had something to do with the whole Frankenstein element.

Fun historical horror episode, very spooky.

Good use of Beethoven was an Alien Spy trope, with the cyberium possessing Percy Bysshe Shelley.

Emma Sullivan seems have a fascination with hands and fingers, what with the reanimated skeleton hands this week, and the detachable flying fingers last week.

It was great to the Cybermen being badass again, and outright rejecting the power of love trope (which they played straight in Closing Time).

It is good we are seeing more of a story arc, and seeing the Lone Cyberman was good. Good design for making it partially converted and rusted.

It was predicting that the lone cyberman would get what it wanted one way or the other, and the Doctor now has to stop it.

Well this was definitely an improvement on the last episode. I hope they explain a bit more background of the lone cyberman in the next two episodes though.

That was a great episode, probably one of my favourites from Whittakers run.

Nice to see the Cybermen back, and i loved the battered design of this lone cyberman, very spooky, really interested in seeing more of him in the next episode. Also i wonder why is he more emotional than the others? Is it just battle damage that is causing it, or is it due to maybe a desperation from the Cybermen when it came to making more soldiers in order to try and win the war, and thus beginning to cut corners or something.

Loved the idea of the house folding in on itself and people getting trapped in the same places, thought those scenes were really damn good. Byron was a twat lol but he made me laugh.
