Yeah, I didn't really hear it either. Music was kind of quiet all episode, really.

It was there for the shortest moment when the Doctor was on screen for the first time, but only for two seconds tops.

Nah son, Clara getting hit in the face hard enough with a newspaper to knock her back is the best scene Clara was ever in.

I forgot about that scene. Though, to be fair, I've repressed pretty much that entire season.

Gosh Heaven Sent was good, it's a good job that was the last episode of the series so Moffat couldn't bugger it up.

Capaldi had some really good episodes, but had a couple stinkers as well. A big problem was Clara overstaying her welcome. Hell Bent/Heaven Sent were some of the best.

At least Thirteen's companions don't seem to be as annoying as Clara was so far, although Yas could use some more screen time.

Had a friend who told me she watched Doctor Who until Capaldi because she couldn't get into him. I selected five episodes total from series 8 and 9 to have her watch - completely glossing the rest of those series over - before telling her to watch series 10 because it's his best season and then embrace Jodie with the rest of us.

Monday for me because that's when Amazon gets it so i can buy it. True pain is avoiding this thread for a whole day every Sunday evening/Monday until I watch the episode.

Agreed with that. Season 10 was Capaldi's best.

Jodie is off to a strong start and I'm hopeful her season maintains this standard.

With the exception of the dreadful "Power of Three", Chibnall's episodes have actually been good ones.

42 was his best episode and was fine, Power of Three could have been his best but fell apart because it should have been a two part story, Hungry Earth/Cold Blood was just a retread of Doctor Who and the Silurians but less good, and Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was proper, full on rubbish.

I think Capaldi would have been a good doctor if the writing was better I mean you see him in the fires of Pompeii episode and the children of the Earth Torchwood and you know he has the potential to be good. I noticed something interesting some of the Clara episodes at the intro had Clara first before the Doctor (12th) I never remember this anywhere else I may be wrong but I always thought the doctors name came first in the intro.(series 8 I think I saw it)

And I found it to be heavy-handed crap. He was a good Doctor, saddled with the most blatant political storylines I've ever seen. I mean that terrible Zygon two-parter used a metaphor for immigration. Awful.

I guess that's a matter of opinion. The Zygon two parter was one of my favourites. And not just cause of the speech either.

Why? Even ignoring the not-at-all veiled political bit, the writing was completely idiotic. And it just ignored that earths population was doubled by 6 billion in one day cause apparently Zygons are supposed to be sympathetic now. And that's not even getting into how braindead UNIT was.

I seem to remember only the first part felt like a terrorism allegory. The second was more futility of war, cycle of violence stuff. And it was fucking brilliant.

People always trot out this stupid speech in its defense. "Oh, this ONE SCENE in a heavy-handed three part episode makes it all great". Just cause Capaldi yelled forever doesn't fix all the issues with that storyline and its crap writing.
