In the interest of dominance you should. I'm not saying do it right now, but as time goes on they'll grow stronger and stronger and threaten your ability to expand into the Netherlands and Germany. Assuming you desire expansion there, anyway.

Not really. Austria hasn't even been Emperor in almost a century, it's Bohemia (who owns basically half of Germany and is Protestant). Plus, they've actually been weakening, constantly getting into wars with more northern HRE members and revolutions. The only thing they got going for them is their army, which is rather paradoxical, but whatever.

And I don't really care for Germany. Probably going to conquer Flanders, and my Dutch conquests are going to end there. Going for the historically accurate route and going for Italy (which I denied the "Claim Naples!" event thingy. That was far too early for Italian invasion. It pops up like twenty years into the game, and unless you don't give a damn about aggressive expansion, youre probably more focused on uniting France and driving out the English than Italy.)

I am though, doing some pretty damn ahistorical colonization on the East coast and Greenland. (French Greenland... God help us).

Aye, there's just this small part of me in the back of my mind that screams "THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN HISTORICALLY" that makes me get bored whenever I grow too big. Italian Wars did happen IRL though, and a fucking French East Coast and Greenland is just too damn hilarious.

So I was going to show the progress I had made, but... My game kept crashing. Essentially, me as Prussia have cut through to Italy via what was Serbia and Croatia, due to a massive war between me and the Southeastern Alliance against Cagliari and Poland. The North has been all but wiped out in Scandinavian by Val Halla and Russia. The NCR took a big hit from USA and Asia has gone nuts.

Well, here's an update on my Brandenburg game.
After Poland pulled me into that damned war against The Teutonic Order and their allies we got wrecked. I hoped the war would be concentrated on Poland, as the attacker, but after their north got occupied the eyes of the Teutons and their Muscovite allies moved towards my little duchy.
One or two battles later, much Brandenburger blood having been spilt in vain, Berlin having fallen, and other places too, I attempted to invade Muscovy. Of course, fucking Poland peaced out while I was sieging down Smolensk, completely unmolested and the only enemy in sight being a Pskovian 6-stack.

Not only that, but they gave two of my provinces away. Fuck them. Puny poles.

Anyway, here's how europe looks like, at this point.
I've managed to gain an alliance with France, which is nice, but I might cancel it because I might need those diplo-points and I have yet to see much use for being allied with them.
Speaking of diplo-points, I need a recommendation for my second idea-group (and also on how to continue in general).
As my first idea-group I took quality, in which I think I took the first three ideas. I'm considering religious or diplomatic as my second group.
And on the matter of continuing.... I have an Imperial Liberation CB on one of the minors (who is allied with some other minors), and might do that. Alternatively, or after that, I'm considering taking down Saxony, though if I do so I'd have to do so completely, as they are an elector and currently my only supporter in the college, beyond myself.
