Modern Western Kid's Cartoons: Which Are The Best?

Postby Tokuopolis » Mon Sep 14, 2015 11:38 am

Since someone made a thread bashing modern (western) cartoons, even though many think they're the best now, here's a thread praising modern cartoons! AT,RS,GF,SU,OTGW, MLP:FiM, LOK , any modern (western) cartoons for kids on any channel (even online)! Here's a list! And another (for web animation and toys with animated spinoffs (e.g. Monster high, bionicle g2))

Rules

1. They have to be TV-Y to TV-PG/or U to 12, if you're a Brit (like me)

2. They have to be western animation.

3. They have to have started in the 2010s, or be seasons or incarnations of a show or franchise that began sometime in the 2010s

I guess I should specify what I mean by cartoons. They have to Western Animations and to have first come out in the years 2010-2015. I'll edit my OP.

If you want me to choose one from the list you have provided, then I have to go for the Looney Tunes Show.

My favorite is Bugs Bunny, of course :)

Oh, but it surely didn't start in the 2010s.

In that case I don't have an answer. As an adult, I don't watch cartoons anymore. (Of course adults can also watch cartoons. But I neither have time nor am willing to watch cartoons.)

Tom & Jerry is amazing. My mom grew up watching it and so did I. I still to this very day watch it because it takes me back to when I was a little kid. Ah the memories :)

That really narrows it down. I don't watch many animations 2010 and after and most of them aren't great, so I guess I'll say Regular Show?

You guys do realise the list is referring to the 2011 Looney Tunes show, not reruns of the classic looney tunes shorts, right? The one with the crazy, wacky lola bunny? :?:

I enjoy watching kid's shows and cartoons because they're shorter and quicker than adult shows, although I do enjoy some longer shows and adult shows (E.g. Doctor Who, Green Arrow, futurama, primeval).

Futurama is a cartoon. Not directed toward kids, but still a cartoon.

Not the kind of Cartoon we are supposed to be generally talking about in this thread. I was just trying to think of adult shows that I liked. TV-14/high end 12 and up shows.

Remember "Sturgeon's law"/Sturgeon's revelation and the Nostalgia filter, and the combination of both. Admittedly, I don't watch many 2010s animations now either, except for regular show, but I'd like to watch more 2010s animations and judge for myself. :)

Your title seems misleading since the entire premise of the thread (as you've explained it) disqualifies the vast majority of the cartoons the NS userbase watches.

Well, someone made a thread called "Cartoons: Which are the dumbest?" And that was all about 2010s animation getting bashed (and had a poll where all the cartoons were from the 2010s), so I decided to make a thread where people could praise 2010s animation. There is already an anime thread, and there are threads for specific shows (most of them 2010s), but I understand what you mean. I'll make a general western animation thread, for all western animations ever.

...or just turn this into a "Western animation" thread. Don't have to go around running 50 OPs or the arts and fiction board.

They have to have started in the 2010's? Well that's ridiculous. No quality cartoons have been spawned in that era. I used to like the Silver Surfer.

Adventure Time(Which needs to end), Regular Show(Which needs to end), Legend of Korra, Generator Rex, MLP, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, OtGW

It isn't necessarily bait. It is an opinion which I think is quite dismissive and held up by nostalgia alone, but that doesn't make it bait.

True, but hating on cartoons made past certain periods(Like the 90's, early 2000's, 2010's etc...) just because of nostalgia happens so much the two have just seemed to merged in my mind.

Also, if we drop the "must be made in the 2010's" rule can I vouch for Futurama here? I mean you can tell that I love it by looking at my flag.
