This person tries to explain how the Ranked matchmaking thing works...

He says (and I have no idea if it’s true or not) that in ranked:

30% of games are auto-losses
30% of games are auto-wins
40% of games are “winnable but they depend on your performance”

...

Now he’s saying.. “hey look at this! You see? You see? You DO have agency over your climb. See that 40 percent? Do you see? Yes there’s auto-losses but they are balanced by the auto-wins. It all balances out, leaving your mentality in the rest of the 40 percent to decide if you climb or don’t. ... You can’t and shouldn’t blame the system.”

What an optimist...

Am I just a pessimist or what? Cause I look at the same info and go...

“This is terrible. So in 60 percent of games my performance (unless I feed intentionally) will have little impact on whether I win or lose? That is pretty depressing design. ... Also, seeing as how I can’t program myself to ignore those auto-losses and start each game with a 100 percent hyper focused hyper optimistic mentality... it seems I shall never climb.”

Great admiration for anyone who manages to climb.

But for reals though? How am I supposed to take a massive set-to-lose loss (that still takes 30-50 mins to play out) go to the next game and be like... “That didn’t matter. I shouldn’t focus on that loss at all, it will in NO WAY impact my performance now or make me angry. I’m just going to keep trying my best. That was either an auto-loss or a winnable game in the 40 percent I was responsible for losing. Clean slate now. Let’s go.”

That’s hard.

Release a set of skins called Dragonmancer.
Release a skin for Aurelion Sol that basically is Ao Shin.

Well, League might be screwed. They're definitely angling for a Tencent ban here. And once that's banned, League goes with it since Tencent own Riot outright.

This game is screwed if you live in the US. Fuck.

There's only 115 million players left monthly (presumably most of them based in Korea and EU). If he goes ahead, I don't think there will be enough of a backlash to stop him. =(

Keyword there: Affiliated. League isn't affiliated with Tencent, it's owned by them completely. Worst those games/companies do is lose a co-partner. But they own Riot wholesale. They go, Riot goes with them.
