So frustrated with ranked right now, string of rotten games/losses back to back

1. Vayne and Ali hate each other. Ali leaves the lane to help my Vlad in mid. Vlad starts carrying... But Vayne trolls by going 0/16 in lane as a protest against the support roaming do much. We are forced into the defensive. I deal over 70k worth of damage and throw their team back a few times (game went on for almost a full hour). Irrelevant, we eventually lose because they have 3 damage dealers.

2. Kha zix mid. I warned him not to do it. He does it anyways. Their mid works with Warwick to kill him over and over and over. To make things even more frustrating, my support leaves the lane very early and I have to 1 vs 2. I've never played bot lane so badly due to tilt.

3. My blue Ez takes off and gets fed s few kills. All of our lanes win for once. Then they start to split push. I ping around but the team is always in the wrong place. Big battle late game (our Mal gets ambushed)... I misclick and get deleted. The rest of the team is aced.GG. Match thrown.

Much better. They even had a couple of feeders which was nice. Kinda takes some of the sense of achievement away. Started to look a little shaky near the end, but we pulled it back.
God, this game is just mentally draining. I can only really get one or two of these matches in a night.

Impressions of the new guy (Aurelion Sol)? I've played with a top, mid, support, and jungle... And I think he's kind of trash in every position except mid.

He's got amazing roaming potential, but seems incredibly easy to pick off. His damage output seems a bit lacking if you don't play him in a solo lane, too.

He's got amazing roaming potential, but seems incredibly easy to pick off. His damage output seems a bit lacking if you don't play him in a solo lane, too.

Well we just got wrecked by one.

I went top lane Vladimir against him and in laning it went 1-1. He went roaming so I pushed the tower down.

However, the rest of the team got completely destroyed by his roaming. I joined the team fights but couldn't provide as much utility (they had a fed ADC as well and a strong support). By the time I got my power spike they were in our base...

How are you supposed to build Amumu? I look at all the guides and they all seem to disagree with each other. Should he go tank or AP? How do you balance it with runes and itemisation?

Also, is there any point to finishing Cinderhulk first as Amumu or Rammus?

I find that I tend to finish the Stalker or Skirmisher piece... and then jump straight to upgrading boots and buying amor/other items. I only bother with completing Cinderhulk at the end for the extra damage and rounding out the build (I seem to jungle fine without it). Is it really powerful enough to warrant finishing first? I mean it sounds like I'd rather get more amor first...

Tank with AP itemisation is probably the best.

Cinderhulk (You want this because of the tank stats, jungle clear and etc, also passive is nice).
Ninja Tabi/Merc Threads/Sorc. (Ninja or Merc depending on enemy team, Sorc if you're very fed).
Spirit Visage/Frozen Heart/Randuins Omen/Warmogs (full tank build)
Frozen Heart/Rylais/Liandries/Spirit Visage (viable mixed AP build)

full ap is a cheese, I'm not gonna help with that. . The last four items have no real order to their build, build as necessary.

Gotta remember that guides are made by players and each player plays differently.

If you haven't already, try champion.gg and probuilds for build suggestions. Champion.gg aggregates the results of matches in plat and above to determine which builds are statistically most successful; probuilds just gives you what pro players have been using lately.


For amumu, I usually go a mix of tanky/AP. His whole point is to cc an entire enemy team so the rest of your squad can do damage, and to just be kind of annoying after popping his ult.

I've seen success from both runic echoes and cinderhulk Amumus, but runic will give you stronger ganks. Rylai's will synergize well with your W, and Abyssal is almost always required (it works extremely well with Amumu's close range kit - don't rush it if the enemy AP sucks, though).

Dead Man's Plate gives you a nice MS boost along with respectable armor/HP, making ganks easier. Thorn mail is also prett much a requirement if the enemy ADC is fed. Swifty boots also seem FOTM right now.

For a general build, I'd suggest Runic/Rylais/Dead Man's/Abyssal/Thornmail/Swifties.

With that said, you should always adapt your build to the game you're playing, so take the above with a grain of salt.

I had some fun with support Sion during the early days of the rework, but that was mostly because I was duo laning with my brother, who is a fairly chill person and doesn't mind losing the occasional farm. That, and his E hadn't yet been nerfed as hell >.>

Lal, just played a game with some friends and one of my friends is still lvl 8 on the account he was playing on, so we tend to arrive against lower elo opponents.
We basically snowballed so hard we won before the enemy could surrender.

Also, this new chests and stuff thingy is pretty neat. Too bad you apparently can only get 2 chests a day though.

I have no idea how this grading system works. Meanwhile, I played what I thought was a much worse game as Rammus and easily got an S. How does this grading work?

It started off great. Me and MF gelling so good, the enemy accused us of chatting over Skype.

Then our garbage Illaoi fed the ever-loving fuck out of Tryndamere.

It did not stay great.

I managed to get an S rank with support Nami, so assists and not dying are at least as important as kills.

High KDA is important, pretty much requiring around a 6 KDA in most situations, high farm too and high kill participation.

It's also relative, so if you're playing a FoTM OP, the S's are much rarer because everyone else is playing it and doing well too.

On S Ranks:

"You're being graded against all other players in that champion/position combo." You need to do better than 90% (...? Honestly, I don't know the exact percentage, but it's high) of all other Ezreals to get that sweet S rank.

Unless you're a support, you need very good farm to get S (unless your KDA is something ridiculous like 20/0/0... and even then, I think you'll only get A+). Damage is part of the equation, but not all of it.
