Yeah Minatour definitely deserved that win. He fucking threw Colbat in the air and pushed Cobalt around even without his weapon. That was some A grade driving.

Indeed. I thought it was over when Cobalt just got thrown into the fucking side of the ring. I mean Minatour had the better driving but credit where credit is due Cobalt is one durable bot.

What an amazing episode! Totally gets me hyped for the tournament!

Since they've given us the chance for more speculation, here's my predicted seeding:

1. Bite Force
2. Hydra
3. Witch Doctor
4. Tombstone
5. Death Roll
6. Whiplash
7. Black Dragon
8. Sawblaze
9. Minotaur
10. SOW
11. Lockjaw
12. Yeti
13. HUGE
14. Quantum
15. Uppercut
16. Blacksmith

I'm making the assumption here that all auto-qualified robots will be the top 8 rankings, with those coming through the play-in matches being in the bottom 8.

I love tourney time. Cause the same thing happens every time. After getting chumps thrown at them all season, Witch Doctor run into a real fight and gets exposed for the mediocre piece of scrap it is. Oh, I hope they get seeded against Tombstone.

I'd put Black Dragon down below some of the more proven bots. It won the desperado, so it auto-qualifying wasn't due to the selection committee thinking it was better than those who had to play in. Also, it seems like Blacksmith has been better at being Duck than Duck has this season.

Whiplash and Gigabyte aren't real fights? Well damn, Someone had better tell SOW and Minotaur. I don't particularly care for Witch Doctor, but I kinda want it to win to see what kind of mental acrobatics you'd bring out in order to continue calling it mediocre

Also, Witch Doctor beat Tombstone at the re:MARS event. You must have missed that. I guess Tombstone isn't a 'real fight' now too.

Eh. Black Dragon has been really impressive IMO. It straight up beat a full strength Minotaur, and its only loss so far was a close judges decision.

Tbf though weapon reliability has been a problem for WD throughout the season, and I don't see it getting better.

My first thought is that I did not expect this fate to befall Hydra. It takes a special breed of cruel luck to seed them below Witch Doctor and then give the defending runner-up something as low as #14.

Bite Force, Black Dragon, Tombstone, Whiplash, Witch Doctor, Sawblaze, Minotaur, and Yeti.

For the record, most of my ranking predictions were close, with the exception of Minotaur. I guess it makes sense for a robot that's lost 3 times to be ranked low, but I expected their name and previous performances would bump them up a bit.

Anyway, here's my bracket (which I did in excel because I'm too lazy to use the proper one)

There are some I'm really not sure about, but that's half the fun

Interested in how you guys think whiplash will beat huge? Of the compact 4wd verts it stands the best chance, but I see the lifting arm getting ripped off.

I envision a 3 minute fight that mostly consists of Whiplash getting to the sides of Huge and getting some lifts in.

Yeah, I agree. Whiplash is so fast and well driven, I can see them just bullying HUGE for the whole fight. Also, there's been a lot of hype around Whiplash this year from the show, so I presume they make a deep run into the tournament.
