After the storm a Japanese film, not a lot happens but it was so well written and directed that I was engrossed throughout. Fully rounded characters, realistic situations, real emotion, that kind of stuff.

Was hanging out (and getting drunk) with old friends/coworkers and we ended up cuddling while watching Booksmart.
I will say, it has a great soundtrack, and there was a handful of moments that made me smirk, but....
The overall "message" of the moving was lacking, and honestly I just kinda felt like I was being shoveled Hollywood propaganda pushed to teenagers.
Maybe I've just become more cognizant of the social factors going on in the upper echelons of modern society though.

Mank, the movie about the guy who wrote Citizen Kane with Orson Welles. Really more of a bit of nostalgia than a biopic.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

The Endless interesting but a little confusing, reminded me a little of Shane Carruth's Primer. It pleases me that people can turn out films as professional as these with very few resources.

Flood, a disaster movie where the United Kingdom suffers a major catastrophe as the Thames floods. The movie takes place mostly in London, tiny snippets mentioning other places like Southend - on - Sea.

Spielberg's The Post. Great movie, and a reminder of how important it is to protect and cherish freedom of the press.

I watched One Night in Miami... yesterday. I knew it had been getting good reviews, but it was a lot better than I expected! The four leads were impeccable, and Regina King's direction - for a debut and a play adaptation - was great.

The Woman in the Fifth - I think it was going for a Don't Look Now feel, it was okay but didn't grab me that much.

Deadpool 2, I'm not a fan of superhero films but I did laugh out loud a couple of times, so it had something going for it. I preferred it to the first Deadpool film.

Only when I larf another of the David Hemmings films of the early seventies that I grew up with. I really liked it when I first saw it decades ago, but it has not aged that well.

The Blob

We all know it's remembered for being Steve McQueen's first leading role, but I think it holds up on its own merits. I'm also familiar with the area where it was filmed and set, so that doesn't hurt either.

Rewatched The Nice Guys. Enjoyed it, very much my sort of film.

Also rewatched The Bling Ring. I like Sofia Coppola films, and it is short a breezes along. Still don't think Emma Watson is a good actor, of the three Harry Potter actors Rupert Grint was by far the best actor and seems to have been given the fewest roles after.

School of Rock

A lot of fun to watch this film again. Jack Black was excellent, I would go as far as saying Oscar worthy even though it wasn't the style of film that wins awards.

Terkel I Knibe.

Good movie, pretty funny.
