Yesterday I re-watched the 1984 movie A Christmas Carol, with George C. Scott playing Ebenezer Scrooge.

Heroes without glory a low budget Italian WWII film from 1971. It was rubbish.

The Shape of Water I wasn't sure if I was going to like it because I don't like magic realism in cinema much, but I liked it. Maybe the antagonist was a little too lacking in nuance.

Wonder Woman 1984

If I paid theater prices, I would have been pissed.

A rather discombobulated film overall.

Bad aspects defined by me:
* We have a 10 year old Diana in a sport event against grown women. Beating them only to have an accident and tried to cheat. Big lesson the truth
* There is a stone which acts like the monkey paw. Grants a wish at the cost of something dear. Steve returns and her powers slowly start to fade.
* Steve the WW1 biplane pilot knows how to fly a jet.
* She figures out how to fly and even does a superman pose.
* Powers still faining.
* The lasso of truth is used like spidermans webs.
* The Chetah’s orgin is much like the catwoman. Doubty girl, clusmy. She makes a wish to be like Diana.
* Max Lord the wishing stone. They were trying to paint a picture of the loser trying to make good for his kid and yet dances with evil.
* Powers still fading.
* she revokes her wish and her powers return. No more Steve.
* The americans have a setup which can take over all broadcasts.
* The new armor. Is that a test for HawkGirl or a ripoff of the Falcon? It was ok.
* special effect and special effects and special effects....hey you have to cover up a weak story line
* A little too mary sue at times.
* A speech at the end.

The good aspects:
* She looks good in the WW outfit.
* Pedro gives a good performance for the script he was given.
* A cameo by Lynda Carter

As mentioned; I would have been pissed if I paid theater prices. I did get bored at times. It falls in line with the quality that was the Justice League. Not something I would watch again and the only way I would watch a third installment would be through a free stream.

*I am a master proofreader after I click Submit.
* There is actually a War on Christmas. But Christmas started it, with it's unparalleled aggression against the Thanksgiving Holiday, and now Christmas has seized much Lebensraum in November, and are pushing into October. The rest of us seek to repel these invaders, and push them back to the status quo ante bellum Black Friday border. -Trotskylvania
* Silence Is Golden But Duct Tape Is Silver.
* I felt like Ayn Rand cornered me at a party, and three minutes in I found my first objection to what she was saying, but she kept talking without interruption for ten more days. - Max Barry talking about Atlas Shrugged

When did we leave?
We believed, we believed, we believed

Just to see him fly

We build a tower of stone
With our flesh and bone
To see him fly
But we don't know why
Ooh, now where do we go

I watched a bunch of short films on Dust. They are mostly science fiction. http://www.watchdust.com Some are very short, as little as 5 minutes.

Watched Day of the Jackal for the first time ever. Tremendous film, must have used every British character actor of the 1970s.

I've been wanting to see that for a while now, but it never seems to be airing on TV or streaming for free in these parts.

Same. It didn't really grab me at the beginning but I found it got more interesting as it went on; things start picking up when we meet 22, and it gets pretty inspirational by the end. It's not one of my favourite Pixar movies since I felt like something was missing, I don't know what. But it's still a good movie in its own right.
