Sabotage (1936). I've not really seen much early Hitchcock. It was rather good, reminded me of Fritz Lang.

"The Trial of the Chicago 7." Typically sparkling, ambiguous product from Aaron Sorkin. Hard to believe the same guy who does Borat pulled off Abbie Hoffman, but he did. Required viewing for those troubled by the antics of Bill Barr's Just Us Department.

The Goonies

I hadn't seen it until now but I found it a bit mediocre. Maybe because I haven't seen it as a kid and because it's very 80s? I don't know, it was also kind of spooky for a bit so I'm glad I didn't see it as a kid, plus there are plenty of 80s films I like anyway. Also, I honestly prefer the Bob's Burgers episode that was based on this.

I haven't.

I have, on the other hand, watched Crazy Rich Asians on Netflix on the night of the 19th with my sister.

Serpico about an honest NYC police officer in the 1970's. I found the movie realistic but slow and boring. I would give it 5/10. I admit that I would quietly take the money from gamblers and keep quiet about corruption in the department and possibly move away from NYC after 2-3 years of experience. He had a lot of integrity, but also got many fellow officers in trouble.

The last movie I watched was an old satire called Airplane. It's better than it sounds.

Early Hitch tends to be pretty hit or miss, but that one is one of the more interesting ones, though I'd be inclined to rank it as middling. Have you seen Blackmail?

Anyway, Inland Empire for me. I've been going through Lynch's filmography.

MIB: International

Yeah, now I understand why the movie was rated so bad. The plot is uncertain where to go, the development is boring and confusing at times. Some lines make you smile but nothing to do with the previous chapters.

His first talkie, and though he hasn't quite mastered the technology yet, it's one of his best early ones. I'm something of a Hitch aficionado, I've seen all his films at least once.

A Hard Day's Night

Didn't go into it with high expectations given that it was a shameless Beatlemania money grab, but it turns out it actually wasn't that bad.

Twins, starring Danny Devito and Arnold Name Too Long & Confusing To Pronounce Correctly

Good movie overall with some funny moments, though it was maybe a little too "sugary and sweet" for my tastes. 3.5/5
