Just watched David Lynch's "Inland Empire" last night.

I do not know what to make of it. Was it a good movie? I don't know. I have no freaking idea what I just saw. I don't know whether I liked it or hated it, I think there are aspects of both.

What I can say of it is that there were scenes that actually managed to be freak me out, which is not an easy thing to do to a guy who considers Stephen King's "It" to be a romantic comedy.

All I can say about it is that it makes his first film, Eraserhead, look normal.

Gladiator (1992), not the one with russel crow, the one about boxing. Theres something visceral about watching a gritty, choreographed fight that is rooted in realism instead of the high budget, special affects fight of recent years.

The Green Mile. Let me tell 'ya it was an excellent movie
The storyline was excellent, the directing was excellent, the scenery was excellent, and above all else, the acting was out of this world. The acting was just fantastic, extraordinary. I truely believed that Doug Hutchson was a prick, I truely believed that Sam Rockwell was a pyscopathic nut job, I truely believed all of it. It was an excellent film. Highly recommended

While technically a single film, I've seen a variety of films about The Mikado.

1966 D'Oyly Carte film of The Mikado: While I thought the performance was good, it did come off flat in certain places. I suppose it's because performing on a film set is different to performing on a theatre stage. The costuming and design are quite superb, as it really does give off that Japanese feel, which gives it that flavour. John Reed as Ko-Ko felt the most energetic of the cast (maybe behind Katisha). However, Poo-Bah, just felt a little flat than the haughtiness he was supposed to convey. The musical pieces were enjoyable and strong, which is something to expect from D'Oyly Carte at this time.

1987 English National Opera (ENO) Production of The Mikado: Jonathan Miller's version, in my view, expresses and parody's British society and institute more than Gilbert & Sullivan did with their subtle Japanese disguise. Everyone plays their role well. Nanki-Poo comes off as boyish but delightful. Yum-Yum is cheerful, with the look (and vanity) that shows she is a schoolgirl without a care in the world. Katisha comes off like a Wicked Witch of the West (or the 1920s Wicked Witch of Titipu), but she does have her moments that make her feel like a misunderstood human, which I thought was displayed well in this setting. Eric Idle's Ko-Ko, while not the best Opera Singer, did hold his part fine. Pooh-Bah has to be one of my favorite Pooh-Bah's out of all the productions. His design and acting just embody the very institute and society Gilbert & Sullivan were trying to convey. He comes off quite strong as a singer.

Saw some others, like Esgee's and Stratford's versions. It's quite interesting seeing the changes each production goes through. The Little List song has to be one of those songs that goes through such topical changes. Overall I quite enjoyed each performances.

"origenes secretos", where a nerdy comics geek helps solve murders.
Very entertaining, loads of cameos.

"RED", (=Retired Extremely Dangerous) Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich. 'Nuff said.

"Feugo Negro", hardass looking for his sister. Beautiful details.

Huntsman: Winter's War

I remember seeing the first one as a kid, so I thought I may as well watch its sequel. Not good, although Charlize Theron was great as always.

The Accountant. I enjoyed it, much closer to what I want from an action film than most. Still a bit flawed, some of the plot twists were a little obvious, and they were a bit heavy handed with the 'this could be a franchise' hints.

This gun for hire, it's been a long time since I last watched it. Never really a fan of Alan Ladd, and I find Veronica Lake a bit weird, but it's a reasonably competent noir film.
