Black Panther

Personally felt both pretty good and also underwhelming, though this is like the first marvel movie I watched so...

Synecdoche, New York.

I wasn’t too into it for the first half hour or so, but after that it started becoming intensely interesting. Still trying to figure out what exactly happened, might have to watch again.

A Quiet Place.

I was dragged into it by the rest of the State Rowing Team and I was scared cause it was apparently a horror, but thats so misleading. It's more like an apolocylpse dystopia - god damn its good. Cinematic techniques, dramatic tension, and effective use of silence.... theres about 6 lines spoken in the entire movie. I hope it wins an award.

Return of the Jedi

I love the conflict between the Emperor, Vader, and Luke. This is such a great conclusion to the Star Wars saga (but oh wait, there's still the sequel trilogy :? ).

The Greatest Showman.

While it was good, it wasn’t as good as everyone promised. Plot was cliché, and the characters were only skin-deep.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Probably my favorite of the Gibson Mad Max movies. Tina Turner is fantastic in it.

"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

Vegas Vacation, with Chevy Chase. Not the best movie, IMO, but it was ok to pass some time.

Let It Be

A neat view into The Beatles' Get Back sessions, with the rooftop concert as a highlight. Sadly most of the film is filled with poor editing.

For Your Eyes Only

The only James Bond movie I watched to the end. I didn't like it that much, though the locations were great.

Yeah, that one is pretty mediocre.

Pope Joan (2009) and Paterson (2016). I enjoyed Pope Joan a lot more than I expected to. They embraced the pacing of an episodic story structure really well, so that each segment of film never overstays its welcome. Thoroughly enjoyable adaptation of romantic legends. Paterson, as with all Jarmusch films is absolutely hilarious in a low key way. Took me a little while to get into the rhythm of the film, but it's well worth it once you do.
