Was it Keanu's "British accent" that did it?

Pretty much! So awkward. Plus all the little moments - like ol' Vlad popping down from the ceiling or scaling the wall...

Friday - Beverly Hills Cop - easily the best of the trilogy, and perhaps even Eddie Murphy's best film - 8.5/10

Saturday - Prometheus - I enjoyed this quite a bit, but it didn't really seem complete to me; it didn't really work as a horror or as an action film, and it left too many questions unanswered - 6.5/10

Sunday - Up - Absolutely perfect - 10/10

Saw Enchanted on TV the previous night. It's basically about a princess who is exiled from her animated world of Andalasia into live-action New York City by her would-be husband's stepmother - the evil queen. The guy then goes to New York City to find his love, followed shortly afterwards by the queen's henchman. Meanwhile, the princess ends up being sheltered by a divorce lawyer. Pretty funny movie.

Dr. Strangelove. Despite being made in 1964, the humor and deadpan of the movie was absolutely timeless. It's a movie where you have to pay attention to the little things, and a movie that is so terribly deadpan and cynical that you begin to wonder what was meant to be humorous and what wasn't. It's definitely now one of my top five favorites.

Dracula scaling the wall is actually directly out of the book, so kudos to Coppola for throwing it in there.

I watched this one too not long ago after not seeing it for years. I was surprised at how much gore and sexuality was in it (not that I'm complaining, mind you). Given how restrained other versions of Dracula have been, I guess it made Coppola's version a little over the top. Thus I couldn't take it quite so seriously, though I did find it to be a decent, entertaining monster flick.

If you want to see a way over the top version of Dracula, go see Dario Argento's recent version. All I'll say is that it involves a giant praying mantis.

Life of Pi is the best movie ever made that isn't a comedy, but the book is better than the movie because it is more focused on the allegory. It is the greatest allegory I have ever read.

To be honest I thought it was a bit of a shit movie.

Last movie I saw was The Family, which was okay. Had some decent moments. Before that was Mad Max: Fury Road for the sixth time.

Was that the one that Luc Besson did with Robert Deniro and Michelle Pfeiffer in witness protection? If so, I rather liked it too.

Iron Man 2: it was a real let down, as Iron Man is the only Marvel related film I have ever liked, I just found the sequel boring with its desperate franchise building and clichéd plot.

I like Mickey Rourke, but his whole Russian bit was kinda silly. Much preferred the "anti-Dude" Jeff Bridges villain from the first film, even if he was kinda generic and disposable.

I spent part of the film wondering why he seemed to have a Glaswegian accent.

Fearless Vampire Killers aka Dance of the Vampires for some of you European folk.

Great film visually, but painfully unfunny in just about every way. Also, the story and characters were too dumb for me, even for a spoof. Hated it.

Evita (1996). On the upside, it's one of the best arrangements of the show. On the downside, pretty much everyone except Antonio Banderas (Che) wasn't quite perfect for their role. Good, but not perfect. Madonna was just a little too breathy.
