Forced to watch this with my family. I'm convinced it's Amish recruitment propaganda.

Yay found the IMDB page

"Soon she must choose and come to terms with the life she wants."

Well, this is certainly a plot that's never been explored before.

Related to topic, last movie I'd watched is still La La Land

Watched Hard Target with dad and brother, because channel advertized it as "an action classic" yet none of us had heard of it.
We found it hilarious.

For some reason the film's director John Woo has numerous fanboys who claim that even his worst movies are complete masterpieces.

Why Him? and Passengers in one day.

Why Him? is actually really hilarious at times, even if it's otherwise just the typical dad vs. daughter's boyfriend thing. The boyfriend's hilarious, but my favorite character is his equally, if not more, hilarious best friend and assistant. Also featuring cameos by, among others, Elon Musk (no, really), Gene Simmons, and Paul Stanley (the parents are fans of Kiss). 7/10

Passengers features brilliant visuals and acting - Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence have a strong chemistry - which I feel is ultimately let down by a plot that is unexpectedly rather creepy and otherwise pretty much formulaic. Laurence Fishburne's appearance is also awfully brief, I think. I'd have loved to see him get more time on-screen. 6/10

Topkapi, which was always on TV when I was a kid. Nowhere near as much fun as I remember it being.

100 Bloody Acres, quite funny Australian comedy horror film.

Wow, you did a newest forgettable Hollywood blockbuster double-feature! Did you see both of those movies in a film theater?

Mary Queen of Scots, Timothy Dalton was surprisingly terrible as Darnley.

Yep! Not as bad as I thought, but not masterpieces either, I suppose.

Watched Day for Night again after many years. Truffaut directs himself playing a film director coping with everything from a kitten that can't act to a drunk actress. It is not laugh out loud funny, but has real warmth for everybody involved in making films. A film I really recommend to everybody, like Lukas Moodysson's Together it drags me out of my usual misanthropy.

Modesty Blaise, an absolute dog's dinner of a film, odd because Joseph Losey was a good director.

Run All Night (2015)

I usually like this type of movies, but this one was pretty forgettable and did not impress me. Liam Neeson kills a lot of people throughout the movie, but he also sustains numerous wounds that leave visible damage. Vincent D'Onorfio is in it too, but he just appears randomly in some scenes and has very little influence on anything.

6/10
