The Monuments Men

Didn't strike me as anything special, they tried to fit too much material into two hours, plus there's a couple goofs that ruin the setting.

Wall-E! Still holds up as one of, if not the best Pixar flick in my opinion.

2001: A Space Odyssey.

I like it a lot more now that I've read the book and seen more of the sci-fi that was inspired by it. I still don't get the ending, though.

Rewatched Contact, one of my favorite sci-fi movies. I still view it as a classic, absolutely worth watching for anyone interested in the concept of extraterrestrial life.

Summer Rental (1985). John Candy did a good job at acting here, and the humor is pretty good, although sometimes too wacky. The plot is a directionless mess, and many scenes don't really flow into the next one well or serve as a connecting scene to the next. The ending is predictable. FINAL THOUGHTS: Solid humor makes up for lackluster plot. 3.5/5

Sister Act. Heartwarming comedy doesn't sacrifice comedy for story, 8/10. One negative piece of criticism: some good acting but also a lot of bad acting. Also overly sentimental at times but this is never a major problem.

Just watched Ready Player One, My Neighbor Totoro and Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Didn't like RPO much, liked Bill & Ted and loved Totoro.

Agreed. It's my favourite Pixar too; I have the first Incredibles as my #2.

Ibiza: The Silent Movie I was expecting a documentary about the history of dance culture, so the sociological and political parts were a welcome bonus.

I watched Showgirls for the first time since it came out and it was actually worse than I remembered it.
"...I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

It's basically what you'd get if the British made a Rambo movie.
