They came out at the same time, I believe Dante's Peak beat Volcano by a few months. Yeah, Dante's Peak came out in February, Volcano in April.

Saw Pokemon Detective Pickachu
The character animation was very adorable, at least that's what all the women around me thought who kept exclaiming about how cute everything was. Contrasted by playing the maligned Sonic the Hedgehog trailer before the movie. I think it's going to be a demonstration of making a reality that fits your character instead of fitting your character in reality. Pokemon exists in a Pokemon world and the Pokemon bopping about in it look like they belong there. On top of making Sonic looking like a kid in a fur suit, he's also in 'our' world and will never look right there.

Also, the story was fine. Having only played Pokemon Go! and never really learning the characters, I was still more or less able to follow it, I imagine there was a lot in there for Pokefans. Kid friendly without feeling pandering, there was stuff that was telegraphed but only because I'm an adult whose been watching movies for decades but will work appropriately for younger audiences.

Watched Mad Max and Mad Max 2 with a friend. Didn’t really care for the first one but the second one is incredible.

the last movie i remember seeing was zootopia.

i'm not sure now if that was after or before base sold the house. if it was after, that would definately be the last.
i mean, in a movie house seen a movie.
otherwise might have been one or two of those comix boox movies.

either way, its been more then a couple of years.
haven't heard about anything coming out that would interest me, but then i haven't even tried keeping up.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

It's the follow-up to Bullitt and The French Connection, so of course there's an epic car chase!

Avengers Endgame although I've seen it the second week it was released. I think it's too late to spoil anything.

Endgame, again.

Actually it was Batman V. Superman but that was on TV and I only saw various bits of it, it didn't make much sense though.

Make it a triple feature and throw North West Frontier in there.

Toy Story

I watched this when I was little but didn't remember much of it. It was great but there were some pretty dark scenes that I didn't expect (like when Andy's toys get mad at Woody and one of them draws a noose on the etch and sketch).

Embrace of the Serpent a Spanish art/festival bait film. It looked beautiful, stunning black and white cinematography, but (and maybe it was just the translation for the subtitles) the dialogue just seemed like tosh.

Tolkien.

Sort of...bland? Focuses entirely on his school year chums as a parallel to the 'fellowship', though I don't think tries to cast any of them as a specific member except the private who won't leave him when he goes to the front in the WWI flashforwards named Sam. Just a weird British posh Stand By Me. Might have been a better movie if it wasn't about a well known author.
