Triangle (2009)

This is a movie about time travel, and it belongs in the group of those that support the idea of a closed time loop (similar to Terminator 1 and Timecrimes). More precisely, a group of people enters a ship that is stuck in time so they relive the same events over and over again, but what makes things even more complicated is that versions of themselves from several hours in the past keep arriving to the ship every several hours and they interact with one another all doing the same thing one after another (this is not a spoiler, just the basic premise of the movie that's clear from the begining). Personally, I disliked the movie due to several reasons. First of all, there is absolutely no explanation for why they end up getting stuck in time. Furthermore, I'll try not to spoil anything, but I gotta notice that there are certain scenes near the beginning of the movie that are edited in such a way that they appear to show characters do one thing, but then near the end it is revealed that something has been omited "between the cuts" and that the characters were doing something completely different. This narrative trick was also done in Shutter Island and Bioshock Infinte, but those works only use this tricks once in the very beginning, whereas this movie does it too many times and relies too heavily on omiting events and then later revealing them. All in all, I do not think this is a good movie about time travel.

3/10

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. It actually wasn't bad. I initially did not have high hopes after seeing the teaser for it and I haven't heard good things about Stramger Todes, but I was proven wrong.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead men tell no tales.

It was decent, i enjoyed it a lot, better than the fourth one, but not as good as the first three. Some scenes i thought could have been different and some characters i think were wasted, but i enjoyed it none the less.

War for the Planet of the Apes

I was sad about the ending, but the movie was rather impressive if you ask me. They should've done a lot more human ape conflict than a human-human conflict instead.

Shanghai Noon

I love this movie. Great mix of action and humour. The best part was the bloopers, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

Hobbit episode 3 - I loved it. They bigged up Thorins lust for the Arken stone Precious and it worked.

They bigged up that Bilbo = Martin Freeman = Dr Watson and it worked.

They bigged up that Smaug's weakness is his cruelty.
