'Breaker' Morant (1980), with Edward Woodward.

Second-best military courtroom drama, behind only Paths of Glory.

The Blues Brothers

Good R&B/soul music and wanton destruction of police cars never gets old!

Into the Woods.

It was the second time, now at home, whereas the first time was when it was in the cinema. I think I enjoyed it more this time, somehow.
Pros: Peace, love, faith, intersectionality and vegetables. :)
Cons: Militarism, capitalism... Well, kyriarchy, basically.

Criminal, starring Kevin Costner, Tommy Lee Jones, and Gary Oldman together for the first time since JFK. Dunno dude, I kinda enjoyed it as a popcorn flick, but I'm not sure if it has much substance.

Watched the Lord of the Rings Trilogy again over the last few days, with Return of the King today. Great films, never get old.

Might start watching the Hobbit trilogy again.

Day for Night (1973). I've always admired Truffaut as a director, but found most of his films leaving me cold. This is definitely a major exception, excellent across the board.

Amazing movie, yes. But since subtitles and the Korean language are apparently things that make the brains of mainstream commoners in the USA bleed, an utterly superfluous American remake was created. Sigh.

At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

It was...meh, nothing really spectacular or interesting about the movie. It felt like they were trying to cram in too many things at one go. Even the nuke scene didn't make any sense. Not to mention wrecking any semblance of plot continuity from the old trilogy to Apocalypse.

Much Wolverine. So wow.

All of the events in the movie could have been avoided if Moira had put that carpet back in place. Which everybody seems to have done for the past 5000 years.

6.5/10 because of eye candy.

Bloodworx, a nasty bastard of a horror movie about a drug study gone horribly, horribly wrong. One of the most awesomely disgusting things I've ever seen... though for some reason I don't like gross-out comedies, I like my horror to be rather high on the ick factor, and this one definitely delivers. Best of all, it's not just B-movie eye candy... it's actually intelligently written enough that it makes you think. It's the kind of film that not only gets under your skin, but spawns a nice little nest of maggots in there. 10/10

Design for Living (1933). It was a little uneven, but the best parts are still utterly delightful.

I'll back this. I can't think of another movie that really delves into the motivations behind war crimes in quite the same way.

Eyes Wide Shut (1999). I'd forgotten how haunting this movie is. It's perhaps slightly bloated around the edges, but it might be my favorite of Kubrick's film scores. Gorgeous film.

Jurassic Park (1993) I just recently read the book, and the differences really confused me. Especially the ending the differences reminded me of the first edition book of Star Wars and Star Wars a new hope
