Runner, Runner, I normally like films about gambling but didn't like this very much at all.

Also Paranoia the Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman film, didn't like it much either.

Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky

Cheesy English dub version.

Gore-tastic. So many memorable scenes and lines.

Richard the Lionheart (2013). An utterly dreadful film. I knew it wasn't going to be good, but even so, it was shocking how bad it was. Chalk that one up as a dead loss.

The Boss with Melissa McCarthy. Pretty much what you would expect, great laughs but nothing too serious. :)

Just saw Captain America: Civil War (it is out in Oz before the USA what a weird world we now live in), I personally found it to be the best Marvel film (in the MCU) so far - wrote a review about it too - https://tldrmoviereviewsblog.wordpress.com/2016/04/30/movie-review-captain-america-civil-war/

Batman vs. Superman. I was dreading Ben Afleck's role, but I was pleasantly surprised; it was a fun popcorn movie.

Sea of Sand (1958), with Richard Attenborough. A LRDG patrol raids a German fuel dump in North Africa, fights their way back to British lines.

I'd rate it as pretty average. Though what really annoyed me was that while the movie was set in 1942, in one scene the radio was playing a Vera Lynn song that wasn't recorded until 1952. Bush league, people!

So I've seen a few recently;

Captain America: Civil War - Pretty darn great. Loved the moral ambiguity and character relationships. Didn't feel at all like 2.5 hours. Not as good as The Winter Soldier though, and without mentioning spoilers, there's a really awkward, forced thing that happens. It's really minor but annoying and weird.

Snowpiercer - Different. I think that's the best word. Unexpected ending, and a lot darker than I was expecting. One of Chris Evans' best performances. Overall quite good.

Contracorriente (Undertow) - A Peruvian film that I came across and loved, but also very sad. It's been a while since I was moved by a film this much (though to be fair I haven't been watching a lot of "tragic" films lately, so this one really got to me). It was brilliant though.

Land and Freedom (1995)

Low budget war film about a British Communist who goes to fight for the POUM in the Spanish Civil War. The story is basically the theme park version of Orwell's Homage to Catalonia. I mean that in a good way. It's one of the few war films I've seen that actually tries to explain the politics of the conflict it depicts. The only criticism I have is that the political dialogue is somewhat inaccessible. For instance, I know what a Stalinist is, in comparison to other types of communists, but the average joe might not. Plus, I wish the film had a bigger budget so it could have been longer. There are incidents that are mentioned, but not depicted, probably due to budgeting constraints. Overall though, this is the best war movie I've seen in a long time. Now I need to get around to watching Ken Loach's other war film, "The Wind That Shakes the Barley". I hear it's also a very good film.

Blackfish (2013)-

Went to a whale convention a few years ago. Watched should we close our zoos? and decided to go back to where it all began. It was pretty good and a good documentary.

BTW, The OSHA guy looked and sounded like one of the coen bros.

Knight of Cups Malick seems increasingly to be making the same movie over and over again, but this was one of his more successful attempts in this century. Certainly better than To the Wonder. I suspect this one may be a grower.

That film really irritated me, reminded me of one of those pretentious perfume adverts they have at Christmas.

I have no idea what you mean with the forced thing but I liked the movie.
