iD goes the same way they did with Doom 3 and tries to give it a deep, thoughtful plot while retaining the classic "aliens on mars from hell, fuck them up" feeling from the other two main games. You have to solve puzzles in order to progress and listen to one dimentional characters yammer on about some bs you don't care about.

Doom turns out to be worse than the movie.

Still better than doom 3 because D3's only redeeming feature was its graphics and D4 already has better graphics.

The trailers and gameplay didn't scream "deep, thoughtful plot."

Yeah, it's really weird, the guy never says whether he's the main developer or if he's just one of the developers.

But, oh my God, is this Digital Homicide stooge ignorant, disrespectful, and stupid, not to mention unprepared for all of the bullshit he brings up in order to defend his points.

I want to teabag this motherfucker until he gets a bruise on his forehead.

For anyone that doesn't know, Digital Homicide are a Steam Early Access "developer"of video games that somehow make it past Greenlight despite being aggressively bad.

Look up "Slaughtering Grounds" on YouTube for an example.

Doesn't Steam try to make Greenlight harder but people always throw a fit?

I think Steam allowing refunds is a gigantic step forward.

A big problem on Steam Greenlight and Early Access is false advertising and a lack of quality control.

Refunds tackle both problems quite well.

It's about fucking time Steam made them possible, though.

Sure took their sweet-ass time dragging their feet to do it. I wonder why...

Right now, I'm loving Black Flag, by the way. It's awesome.

Oh no, how many Ade X Edward fanfic's are there?

Hoping to be a practical response from a longtime AC fan, AC3 is a game where you'll either love it or hate it. Reviews are very mixed. I, of course, lean very much towards the "love it" camp, though I wouldn't actually use those words. It's a great game that introduced the naval mechanics you're experiencing right now. Black Flag is very much a perfection of the AC3 system, though, so just a word of warning that it's going to feel a little different and clunky. That sort thing always happens when you backwards in a series.

One big reason Steam didn't want to do it was cost.

Luckily, they now have millions of dollars and they can probably afford it.

What makes this extra funny is that companions can't die in FO4, so the only way you could lose one without getting rid of them yourself is if they were 'removed' from the game by being placed outside a cell, i.e. clipping through the floor.

During the summer sale it dropped to $45.

I come into the game having no knowledge of the series except that it's stealth-focused and really popular. I played some Splinter Cell earlier, so I was in that mindset a bit. The x and o button menu reversal is really jarring, but w/e. Anyway, I go through the prologue and learn the ropes, and end up having to knife everyone because I'm still bad at stealth. My first 'what' moment is when Ocelot ricochets kills a dude, and then meows to summon his soldiers, but I shrug that off during the sweet fight scene after. It really hit me when the Bee Guy and Thunder Dude came along, and Thunder Dude mini-nukes a factory like it was a Deathclaw nest. I realised that this was a 100% over-the-top Japanese stealth game. I really should have figured that out when I saw some rooftop fighting scene from one of the newer games, but I guess it didn't really connect.

So I tried Depth at Steam because it's free and it's....kinda good. Sort of. Somehow it's hard to play.

I come back to Elite: Dangerous from a few month hiatus to find three Water Worlds and 5 terraformable worlds (one of them being one of the Water Worlds), all in one sitting. My luck with this game is fantastic.
