I'm cool with a Gen 5, however I've seen some of the concepts they have already posted on 4chan (can't link them obviously, but you're more than capable of finding them yourself), and unfortunately it looks so far like they're just trying to make a highly tweaked version of G4. Every new Generation borrows elements from the previous ones, but they've all so far had their own solid unique identities. G5 so far seems to be in a disturbing middle ground where it's not enough like G4 to be enjoyed by current fans but not different enough to be respected in its own right. (Seriously, one of the ideas they have so far is "Neon City" as the hometown — it's Canterlot, quite obviously Canterlot, but in hideous "hip with the kids" neon colors.)

Of course, it's extremely early in the process, so that could all easily change in time. Obviously they're going to start with what they've got now and work their way from there, I just hope that in that process they bring more unique minds on board. Faust made probably the best version so far, but I don't want to just see her ideas copied, especially not in an inferior way.
