If it is just part of a movie it's just a sex scene, if it is the main plot of the movie it is porn ...neither is smut.

Am I the only one who finds it bizarre and a little disturbing that this latest episode so clearly tried to set sail the SS MarbleMac and yet also went out of its way to repeatedly reference that the Apple and Pie families are related?

Not necessarily. We do not know if the Amish religion (or even culture) exists in Equestria. (And that is in fact doubtful as Christianity itself does not appear to exist in Equestria [and why would you when your princesses are effectively gods?]) All we know is that we have ponies that speak in a stereotypical Amish fashion.

This might be my Crusader King speaking and possibly the fact that I haven't seen an episode since the mid-season hiatus, but I find nothing disturbing as long as they aren't any closer than second cousins...

Well, the problem is that we don't know either way. And for those that would be disturbed (and even under your limitations) it is no consolation not to know.

I think it's far more likely that the Pies and Apples are only distantly related, almost to a point where most people would say they aren't related. It's really unusual to find that you have a new first cousin out of the blue.

Well, IRL most Amish are fluent in both Pennsylvania German and English and confine the latter to in-group settings. It's still disturbing to use archaic English to imply "Amish".
