Identity is essentially subjective - a instance is assigned an identity based on how closely it corresponds to the observer's mental model of an ideal instance of whatever entity (their schema of that thing, in technical terms). Identity is not inherent in an object, but rather arises by observation (observation being always a process). It is much more useful to state who considers what which than to outright claim that the what is a which.

"Those who reached my boundary, their seed is not; their hearts and their souls are finished forever and ever. As for those who had assembled before them on the sea, the full flame was their front before the harbour mouths, and a wall of metal upon the shore surrounded them. They were dragged, overturned, and laid low upon the beach; slain and made heaps from stern to bow of their galleys, while all their things were cast upon the water." - Ramesses III., Battle of the Delta

I concur. Screw Rarity, if anypony needs 3 episodes in a row - it's Fluttershy. Seriously, she has the least character development of all the Mane 6. all the 'lessons' she learns get reverted, and she's back where she started at the episode beginning. They need to fix that, instead of a bunch of episodes with some prissy annoying wannabe 1st class pony.

Didn't Fluttershy get three episodes last season? They weren't in a row, but they were all at least decent, right? Anyway, as a Fluttershy fan, I hope she gets some good episodes this season.

The point is that even in those cases Fluttershy hasn't "grown" to the degree that Rarity has because her development always seems to get resetted a couple of episodes later.

Fluttershy hasn't grown at all. All of her growth gets backtracked and reset. She's the only of the Mane6 to have no real, permanent character development.
Rainbow Dash got more character development in Tanks for the Memories than Fluttershy has in the entire series. Because all of Fluttershy's was reverted.
